She works in government. Didn’t say doing what.
I see cats and boxes of wine in the refrigerator in her future as well as insisting that government take care of her.
People who will not have children are generally hopeless.
Proof that you don't have to die to live in hell. Her story gives me the shivers.

The women’s lib movement played havoc with women’s minds. In my mother’s family, a large family, all four of the women went to college. They chose careers as nurses or school teachers, married, and raised children. Some careers are better suited to raising children. Teachers have summers and holidays off, nurses often work four long days a week.
Now women have been herded into the idea that they have to be a high-powered lawyer or businesswoman who often works all weekends and may have a lot of travel for business.
There are more sensible ways of having a career and raising children than what women’s heads have been filled with. It should not have to be an all or nothing situation.
So, basically, you want the freedom to be 22 for the rest of your life while your friends who have become parents have grown up.
It's probably best that such people don't have children, don't you think?
Is it wrong that I want to thank this woman, for by making the choice to take herself out of the gene pool, she’s made the world a better place for my grandchildren?

My kids are grown and out of the house, but I wouldn’t want to have little kids right now.
I’m expecting things to get worse.
There is a thin veneer of civility in our society and it won’t take much for it to rub off.
If the social fabric begins to tear, I don’t expect our betters will be either willing or able to do much about it. Best to be as light on your feet as you can, and raising kids was pretty demanding even back in the good old days.
By the way, if we did begin to experience the collapse of complex societies, either here or around the world in developed nations, would it not be real easy to look back and say, “We should have seen it coming! All the indications were there!”
Non-stop propaganda from schools, government, movies, tv and social media will do that. So will a bad childhood with no dad.
