Dyanna Volek was never someone who dreamed of becoming a mother.
From an early age, she knew deep down that she didn't want children. Maybe it stemmed from seeing her mother sacrifice her dream of becoming a flight attendant and work three jobs to raise two kids alone. Or maybe it was that other endeavors interested her more. "I'm always looking forward to the next thing," said Volek, who works in local government in San Francisco. "Being a parent was never one of them." Still, the idea of not having children seemed taboo, so she didn't dwell on it much. It wasn't until a few years ago when she started getting serious with her partner that she really reckoned with her feelings. By the time she and her husband got married last November, they had reached a conclusion: They didn't want kids. Volek is now 37, and doesn't see herself changing her mind. Not having children gives her a sense of freedom that her friends who are parents don't have. Now that they're vaccinated, she and her husband have been able to eat at restaurants, attend concerts and travel without worrying about risking their child's safety. If they think of not having kids because there’s already too many people on the planet, then I say, why not go all the way and kill themself, and really take one for the team.
They should do an article as to why men don’t want to get married and have children anymore.
Of course they wouldn’t tell the truth because men are the cause of ALL problems dontcha know.

More and more of the younger generation their lives revolve around instant gratification and them, them, them. Plus lazy, no work ethic.
Children are hard work, require sacrifice, responsibility, virtues that seem to be going the way of the dodo bird as each generation comes along.
Kipling covered this in “The Gods if the Copybook Headings”:

So, what is the down side for the rest of us?
I am sure that Afghani and Congoese and Moroccan and Haitian and Guatamalan immigrants will be delighted to pay taxes for the care of childless old western women, and that the touch of their hands will always be gentle.
This is a sick and suicidal society. Maybe it’s a flaw, evolutionary or spiritual, that many people have a sex drive stronger than a child drive. That used to be enough before it crashed into contraceptive technology.
I used to feel guilty about having four children and over-population. Then I realized we wouldn’t even make a drop of difference next to all my people who weren’t having children, and that my people were the only ones who cared about over-population or the ecologies of the earth at all.
Part of the reason for not reproducing is that we’ve pushed the educational requirements so high that somebody has to be in their early thirties before they finish their education. Then you often spend a couple of years establishing yourself in your occupation.
Almost no time left at all to have a child.
Some people have no business being parents and I’m grateful for the ones who know it. It’s sad but the alternatives are far, far worse.
To answer the question here - VERY SIMPLE. Kids are a TOTAL DRAG on today’s career-driven couples. In the past, the choice was FAR EASIER - sit home and do nothing all day, or have kids. Today, the choice is to make a lot of money, or have kids - no financial upside with kids.
So many couples simply go the no-kids route, or if that makes them look bad in their social circles, well then, one Trophy Child when the woman turns 38.
Meanwhile, women in burkas and women like them are living the traditional US/Western lifestyle of having kids, or sitting at home watching soap operas all day, making the decision much easier.
So the solution, if people DARE to ask: Make having kids financially rewarding, or at least not financially punishing. PAY PARENTS, maybe $10,000 per year, tax free, for kid #1, $20k for 2 kids, $40k for 3 kids, $60k for 4 kids, and a maximum of $80k for 5 kids or more. And do it in a way that only applies to families who will support this country, to preclude 3rd World Baby Factories.
Don’t like the idea, fine - live with the consequences of Westerners being depopulated, and explain to your kids why this is good for them and their kids.

My wife and I got the biggest kick out of this.
We are both UNVACCINATED and we've been out to eat several times a week through this whole silly pandemic. We can retire NOW if we want to and we are still in our 50s. Our children are grown up and on their own. We live in the NYC area.
So we say to this smug woman "happy trails."
People who don’t want to have children definitely should not. But AT SOME POINT IN THEIR SELF-CENTERED, SHALLOW LIVES they may regret that decision. The best part of parenthood is having adult children and grandchildren, and by the time they understand that, it will be way too late.
