Children are hard work, require sacrifice, responsibility, virtues that seem to be going the way of the dodo bird as each generation comes along.”
What happened to the DoDo birds in the big picture?
The women’s lib movement played havoc with women’s minds. In my mother’s family, a large family, all four of the women went to college. They chose careers as nurses or school teachers, married, and raised children. Some careers are better suited to raising children. Teachers have summers and holidays off, nurses often work four long days a week.
Now women have been herded into the idea that they have to be a high-powered lawyer or businesswoman who often works all weekends and may have a lot of travel for business.
There are more sensible ways of having a career and raising children than what women’s heads have been filled with. It should not have to be an all or nothing situation.
