And we’re paying for it because...?

Normally, I would ask the same question, but in this instance I have no problem with it. I think we have a vested interest in the killing of our common enemy. I understand this is a defensive weapon, but if it keeps more Israelis alive to kill the enemy.
Also, if they share the technology, it’s great in the field, real world testing.

Because we and Israel co-developed the system. I don’t know the specifics, but I would imagine that Israel developed most of the actual technology and we paid for most of it; we clearly have access to the technology to use it as we see fit, whereas Israel has a pressing need to use it every few months when the Arabs get off of their meds.

I would agree. If they're sharing the technology.

Can anyone explain why Tom Massie, Kentucky Republican, voted with the Jew haters of the Democrat party against Israel?

Massie is saying he wants to limit spending. This is one of the things he thought could be limited.

How strange no one objects to aid to Egypt, Jordan...etc. And yes, US/Israel have a common enemy.

To object defending 8 million Israelis (via iron dome) from facsistic terrorists who targets civilians while using its own civilians...but not to object to Biden's millions of vaccines to Africans...? Both should be OK.

Start a thread about the U.S. paying for Egypt's or Jordan's defense and see my reaction.

I agree. Why are we shipping our tax dollars to any outside country? American money is for Americans.

I think most MAGA people tend to be strictly America-first, and would prefer all money we spend on foreigners go to American issues and causes. Not everybody feels we owe Israel our tax dollars, or should be paying for their defense when they are sophisticated and wealthy, and could afford it themselves.

I don’t see this as the winning campaign issue for our side so many here seem to see it as.

“Ha, memory getting faulty in my old age. But I didn’t care, every republican gave the democrats a lifeboat.”

You don’t play politics with the defense of Israel. Geez. Yeah, you Israeli’s, you just wait for a year or two while we play politics with the Dems, and hope the Pali’s don’t lob too many missiles at you in the interim.

On too many of these Israel threads, the stench of anti-Semitism raises its ugly head under the guise of allegedly saving money. So what if Israel is surrounded by the Muzzie enemy, so what if Israel is our eyes and ears into the Middle East by virtue of their proximity to it; so what if they work with us militarily via Mossad to do some of the dirty spy/action work we don’t have to do because of them. So what if they are the only democracy in the whole region. So what if we are one of only a few non-Jew hating countries going.

You would rather side with our enemies that would love to do us in such as Iran, by depriving Israel of the means to protect herself with defensive weapons, which the U.S. has requested that Israel use rather than go on a ground/air attack against their enemies, thus drawing the U.S. and other allies into unnecessary wars to help Israel, if attacked by multiple Muzzie entities in the neighborhood.

I don’t hear too many of you complaining about actual troops we have stationed all over the world in other countries. No, it’s just against a military defense system jointly developed by Israel and the U.S., with the production of the missiles needed to supply it being U.S. made. And the financial aid we give Israel they immediately use to purchase U.S. military/tactical equipment from American owned defense companies.

I’m sick of all of the stealth anti-Semites that swarm like killer bees on threads that deal with the very existence of Israel. It sucks.

P.S., why do you have the name BushCountry as a handle? Are you a Bush loving anti-Trumper? What’s with the name?

“What’s with the name?”

Screen name was created over 20 years ago when he won the presidency and had not served. And yes, at the time there were high hopes for the country and him.

I will admit you’re a mighty keyboard warrior with not an ounce of civil discourse in you. That really is a pity. I recommend a little self-reflection and therapy.

I would have loved to discuss this with you and there was a chance you could have changed my mind through reasonable debate instead of childish name-calling. By the way, for future reference, none of the assumptions you made about me are true.

“I will admit you’re a mighty keyboard warrior with not an ounce of civil discourse in you. That really is a pity. I recommend a little self-reflection and therapy.”

Well, after being on FR for 23 years now, I would say there are plenty of Freepers with whom I have had great civil discourse. I guess it depends on what your definition of civil discourse is. I don’t have much of it with people who post negative, poorly thought out comments against one of our greatest allies that lives in a neighborhood surrounded by enemies, whose state was founded by many of the survivors of perhaps the greatest Holocaust in recent history.

And for whom our WWII military fought valiantly to save these survivors from certain death by Hitler’s regime (too much like Biden’s regime for my tastes). And you want to play right into the Biden Administration’s anti-Semitic policies by depriving for no good reason Israel from being able to have the missile system they need to defend themselves from constant attacks by the Pali’s? I have very little civil discourse to work up considering your stance on Israel.

Actually, I was speaking generically of the anti-Semites that show up on all of the U.S. policy toward Israel threads, as they become infested with thinly veiled anti-Semitic tropes in a nanosecond. Your comment was just a means to join the discussion because too much of it reflected the anti-Israel bias that was the general tone of this thread with few exceptions up to that point.

As to the suggestion of self reflection and therapy, that sounds just a little too much like what a “woke” Dem would say, and if anyone needs shrinks it would be the entire Democrat socialist party (excuse me, forgot to inject the word Marxist too). American Marxism as Mark Levin says.

Your not changing your monicker from Bush Country to Trump Country or something other than containing the word “Bush” also, sorry to say, makes me instantly suspect of where you are coming from. It’s taken 20 years for you to figure out that the Bush family (along with the Cheney family) are not on our side and hate Trump?

Feel free to defend your comments regarding withholding funding for Israel when it is a drop in the bucket for their defense needs, in light of all the reasons I listed in my original post; I will be happy to hear your reasoning. In fact I’d love to hear your justification. Which makes me think you don’t have a very good one as you did not respond to any of my bullet points about the actual subject at hand, the defense of Israel by replenishing their supply of missiles that we manufacture as we have done from when Iron Dome was first developed (designed primarily by Israel). Especially in light of the fact that it was at our request that we wanted them to use this defensive posture over Israel going to war by direct attack with the enemies that surround them.

If none of the assumptions I have made about you are true, then tell me otherwise referencing the heart of the discussion, that is Israel’s defense, rather than you resorting to my alleged childish name calling. Any name calling I do is never of a childish nature over such an important subject as anti-Semitic attacks about and the defense of Israel. It’s not a childish subject.

You have not addressed the meat of my comments about Israel’s defense. Neither have any of the other “save money” posters on these threads where any of them should know (and really do) what the consequences of not keeping Israel supplied with missiles that we manufacture here in the U.S. would be. It’s the destruction of Israel, isn’t it. Isn’t it? If she is left defenseless?

You know, Israel isn’t just any ordinary financial transaction like those we have with other nations around the globe. Her position in the world is rather unique, wouldn’t you say? The only Jewish country on the face of the earth, a haven for a people continually and to this day (see Biden regime) are persecuted just for being Jewish (as you know, they are the Old Testament part of the Christian bible).

You want to save money, dismantle our bases in Germany that has thousands of U.S. troops, and more strategically set up a base Poland, a country that isn’t liberal and run by socialist politicians who knife Ukraine in the back and ally themselves with Russia via pipeline. That’s where you could save needless spending; move our bases to cheaper Poland and a country that is a much better ally to our country.
