Power Outages Hitting Most of China’s Provinces
https://www.nextbigfuture.com/ ^ | October 3, 2021 | by Brian Wang

China power problems are affecting 20 out of China’s 34 provinces. Cement production has been reduced by 29% and aluminum production capacity has been reduced 7%. Heavy industry has seen the most cutbacks.

Coal prices are up but China’s utilities have energy price controls. There were quotas on coal mining.

The rolling blackout and other power shutoff is also hitting hospitals and street lights. The power shutoffs are very broad and the facts do not align with various excuses and stories coming from China.

China’s leadership has not been on top of the power shortage problem and has been months behind on reacting to the power emergency.

The shortage of hydroelectricity is dues to a widespread drought which has caused 30% less hydroelectric power generation.

The coal mining quotas were lifted last week. We will see if lifting the limits on production can fix the power shortage.

The coal mining quotas have been lifted to combat the power shortage.

officially at least, China is communist, so the idea of getting rid of any controls over the economy must be anathema to president Xi and his boys.

“How are all those electric cars working out in China”?

Right on!

Toyota has already cut back on the manufacture of electric cars because of the world wide opposition to increasing power from coal plants to accommodate the electric car demand for power.

In 2020, the U.S. exports to China were $124.6 billion, an 17.1% ($18.2 billion) increase from 2019; the U.S.
imports from China were $435.4 billion, a 3.6% ($16.2 billion) decrease; and the trade deficit with China was
$310.8 billion, a 10.0% ($34.4 billion) decrease.

So we get an incredible amount of stuff from China, and export stuff to them, annnnnd they are all screwed up and falling apart.

Terrific.

Toyota?! They do hybrids, not electric-only cars. Their first electric only cars are still in the concept stage, last I heard.

Add some forest fires and no water and this story could be Kalifornia.

You caught that, eh? All communists do is lie to accomplish their goals. The lies are constantly changing to achieve their goals but people have too many ways of getting the truth nowadays.
Since censorship is not working too well they will just cut the power and leave people in the dark. Those floods are soooo yesterday and the climate changed again on the poor Chinese.

No shortage of countries lining up to sell us stuff that we don't feel like making here. Vietnam, India, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand, etc.

China’s economy is built on a house of cards. They need us to buy their stuff or else it collapses. Democrats fight us to prop up their commie masters and they aren’t alone. When even a Trump hating RINO calls them out then Democrats know they have failed. I read an article of that just happening, “Christie: Biden ‘Capitulating’ to Radical Dems Like He Did for The Taliban”, and you can give that a look at NewsBusters. Chris isn’t wrong here but he hasn’t visited ‘right’ in so long it was a shock. When China does implode it will be glorious but at the same time we’ll have shortages of the stuff we NEED (as opposed the the rest of their garbage) that they make.
