Dozens of Howard University students are sleeping outdoors in a tent encampment on campus grounds to protest what they describe as "poor" and "unlivable" conditions in the college dormitories.

Students told ABC News that portions of the university living quarters have mold and insect and rodent infestations, as well as leaky ceilings and flooding -- all of which they say put their health at risk.

...The sit-in, organized by the Young Democratic Socialists of America and The Live Movement, has gone viral under the hashtag #BlackburnTakeover....Students at other historically Black colleges and universities have also shared videos and pictures on social media of alleged low-quality living conditions at their schools....

...There have been 34 reports of concerns related to discoloration, or suspected fungal growth, across more than 5,050 beds. This represents 0.67% of the total on-campus beds, according to Howard University officials....

this article reminded me of the funding that Trump enabled specifically for historical black colleges, and all the other grant and alumni funds that flow into these institutions in particular, and so must ask, where's the money?

...sleeping outdoors in a tent encampment...

At least they don't have to share a dorm building with evil Whitey at a normal college.

#1: "where's the money?"

Hawaiian vacations. Hair weaves. Gucci handbags. A nice "grill" for the teefs.

It was said long ago, “how do you become a Socialist?”

The answer then was, Go to Harvard and Turn Left.

My X-son-in-law was a Harvard Law graduate. (head shake) But he was/is a Republican.

When I worked around the DC area in 2010-2013...I got to talking with a maintenance guy. Conversation came up one day over mold/mildew issues. He offered the opinion that virtually every building that was built before the 1950s in the DC area has deteriorating conditions (some more, some less), and most owners aren’t willing to spend the cash necessary to resolve the problem or contain mold. But he also said...part of this whole issue is that DC-cost levels have reached an epidemic point where nothing can get done cheap unless you used illegals as your employees.

On mold, if you got the bad stuff....you might as well leave the campus dorm, and live in a tent for four years.

They wouldn’t have all the infestation problems if they occasionally took out the trash an quit BBQing in the bathtub.

Yes, I know what Howard University is.

I know it is a black university.

My point? Universities are almost all Leftist breeding grounds.

I graduated from one that was not.

About every 3 years or so, someone gets busted for embezzlement but they don’t press charges because “the money is gone”. Financial audits are avoided.

“if only we could organize like they do.”

We work, they don’t. Hard to be a professional agitator if you are actually working at a job all day.

Do the math. 5050 beds are 0.67% of beds on campus. So 5050 / 0.0067 = 753731.34 beds on campus. That's a lot of beds on campus! Or maybe the Howard University officials are innumerate. Or perhaps author Brianna got what they said wrong and did not double check. Maybe the editor is innumerate. ABC News, par for the course....

This looks like the same methodology used to compute the number of POC killed by the police.

Whoever wrote or allowed these ridiculous numbers to slip by may also think that 1 billion equals 2 million and 1 trillion equals 3 million. After all a bicycle has two wheels and a tricycle has three wheels. /s
