DUMBEST ENERGY POLICY EVER? [UPDATED]
Powerline ^ | November 8,2021 | BY JOHN HINDERAKER

administration has produced a clownish energy policy. It is simultaneously suppressing petroleum production in the U.S. and begging Saudi Arabia and Russia to produce more. This is idiotic, but Jennifer Granholm apparently thinks it’s funny.

You might think the administration’s energy policies couldn’t possibly get worse. But now the New York Times reports: “Biden Administration Plans Wind Farms Along Nearly the Entire U.S. Coastline.”

The Biden administration announced on Wednesday a plan to develop large-scale wind farms along nearly the entire coastline of the United States, the first long-term strategy from the government to produce electricity from offshore turbines.

Speaking at a wind power industry conference in Boston, Interior Secretary Deb Haaland said that her agency will begin to identify, demarcate and hope to eventually lease federal waters in the Gulf of Mexico, Gulf of Maine and off the coasts of the Mid-Atlantic States, North Carolina and South Carolina, California and Oregon, to wind power developers by 2025.

So at the same time the administration is trying to block oil and gas leases on federal lands, it contemplates leasing federal waters for wind turbines. Wind turbines are environmentally awful and produce electricity less than half the time, so along with wind farms watch for many billions of dollars to be spent on natural gas plants that will operate the majority of the time when the wind turbines produce no electricity.

I didn’t think it would be possible to produce an energy policy this mind-numbingly foolish, but the Biden administration has exceeded my expectations.

UPDATE: Having killed the Keystone pipeline, the Biden administration now admits that it is contemplating shutting down Enbridge Pipeline #5, which serves Michigan. Governor Whitmer tried to close the pipeline at least temporarily, and several Indian tribes have demanded that the pipeline be dismantled.

fishkill birdkill. Where the F is PETA when you need them? /s

Ill effects on humans. Which Nazi cronies will own these farms?

There goes the stock values of IRAs and the 401Ks and the like.

All part of the manufactured genocide of the working population.

Turbines are easy targets for anyone with good or bad intentions.

Of course she thinks it's funny. It is funny, if you're a powerful Democrat at the top of the Democrat food chain.

Do they “feather” them in a high wind?
(Like a hurricane.)

Or do they just let them be destroyed and build new ones?

What, exactly, IS the high wind-speed survival specification? 100MPH? 150 MPH? 200 MPH?

Wait a second it will take 20 years to build and set them in place and we only have 9 years left

These policies are not “dumb” or “stupid” or “incompetent”.

They are cold, calculated, premeditated MALICE intended to implode the the United States and remove it as the greatest obstacle to the global tyranny so long planned by the global elite.

Senator McCarthy was wrong, only because it was far, far worse than he thought.

I ran a quick back-of-the-envelope calculation, and it appears that to provide the entire nation with electricity, the wind turbines will have to be sited approximately every 60 feet along the Atlantic coast.

Depends on what the goal of the “energy policy” is.

Haven’t they figured out that wind “farms” cause massive climate change by taking wind energy out of the natural ecosystem? (i.e. hotter temps. downwind).

Stupid idea.

When gasoline tops $4 per gallon, large parts of the country suffer from power blackouts and millions are sweltering or shivering in their darkened homes, perhaps the 81 million of supposed Biden voters will have second thoughts about electing this clown.

“This is idiotic, but Jennifer Granholm apparently thinks it’s funny.”

She’s a Kamala Harris wannabe with the stupid laughing. I see/hear it on at least one of the local news station where the info babe bursts into a laughing segue into the next subject. I hear it elsewhere in public, and it’s kind of creepy in the way they all seem to be going for the same effect, like some weird fad among teenage girls in Jr. High School. If it was up to me I’d have them all write 1,000 sentences- “I will not laugh out loud like that.”

“stupid laughing.”

I wonder if there is some Dem PR consultant that is telling them to laugh when they get a difficult question. It is just too fake to be natural reaction. Think Hillary.
