I can think of a lot of reasons not to confirm Omarova. Her antipathy towards the very banking industry she would be regulating is not something that would build confidence in the financial sector. The overregulating she seems to be advocating would be just as harmful as underregulating in terms of fostering fairness in the system. And on and on. For her side, sure, but that side is getting smaller and smaller. Kennedy is playing to his own audience. Those in the middle aren't likely to be swayed or even notice.
