Agree he is their next at bat, but he has only mayoral experience and flubbed the assignment he was tasked with, to gain some gravitas. He took the job and went rogue with his 6 month vacation. That will be hung around his neck like an albatross in a campaign. I think they are looking for other options as well if he is not able to recover.

That would make Vice President Kamala Harris president. We all know that’s not going to happen.
No we don't. Biden could kick the bucket tomorrow, and she would automatically become president. They're stuck with her. She hasn't done anything that would merit removal (in their eyes). It would be too messy to dislodge her from the Vice-presidency.
Why wouldn't the Deep State want her in office? She is easy to control.
A more plausible scenario for Hillary's ascension:
Joe kicks bucket
Kamala kicks in
Kamala picks Hillary*
Hillary kicks Kamala out
Hillary presidency

With Kamala promoted to president, the VP office will be empty.
The senate is split 50-50. They will need at least 1 Republican vote to confirm Hillary as VP.
