I met him when he was running for president while he was staying in a penthouse condo on Wilshire in LA, he was a pretty nice guy back then, at least to me, but so was Nixon, Ford, Reagan, Bush Sr when I met them. I only liked Reagan though.
They all love Bob Dole today but back in 96 they called him a fascist.
Oh yeah. And great ‘ol Reagan had also his enemies.

Reagan was uniquely beloved.
I had the opportunity to meet Bob Dole 3-4 years ago. We were at the WWII Memorial welcoming an Honor Flight of WWII veterans.
Bob Dole was at the entrance sitting in a chair greeting his brothers. I had no business butting in so I stayed at a respectful distance.
