First, Trump wanted to shut it down because everything on TikTok goes back to the Chinese Communist Party.
Second, video sites are tools, just like firearms. Because some morons misuse it does not mean it should be shut down.
That is socialist thinking.
Finals? They’re too demanding. Very few finals in public high school. Too many would fail. Seriously that’s the reason.
The goal isn`t student learning, it’s to lower the failure rate.

I completely agree. Or, at least, shut down all the public schools and replace them with private schools, for those parents who don’t have the personal time or access to the community for home schooling.
I was home schooled, by the way, at least for part of my youth, and it was far superior to the public school system where I learned nothing at all!

A video format is a tool. A video site like tiktok is a platform. Just like the college hippie clubs of the 1960s, they are a breeding ground for intrusive thoughts and destructive ideas. Doesn't mean all college clubs or video platforms are bad, but these ones are worth a bad label.
The ChiComs built tiktok to collect information (it was well documented at the time just how much more information was being shared from user devices than would reasonably be necessary to host and share dance videos), and one of the more insidious "features" of the platform is how quickly it can dial in to user preferences and keep feeding and steering content to kids.
Does that mean the ChiComs are starting these campaigns to cause violence? Probably not, but they are well aware of how easily it is to spread these viral ideas, connect weakminded people and disrupt our society, and the campaigns they are running are probably much more insidious and damaging.
If tiktok is a threat to national security, then that would be a reason to ban it on a national level. (Shutting it down might not be possible.) Of course, I’m not in charge of those decisions, but I could see it being banned on that basis and it wouldn’t be “socialism” to do so.
As a side note, I’ve observed that people who use tiktok don’t seem to have much to do on an average day, or much occupying their minds. They need more problems!
We’re holding our special needs son out today, unfortunately, due to some nut making very specific threats to our high school in Loudoun County, Va, the sicko hotbed of transgenderism. CRT and other progressive ideologies. I am so glad my son has one month left to go before he graduates.
He will miss today, but really don’t feel safe sending him there any day now.I could never live with myself thinking he’d be hurt or even killed, trapped in that building with something of that nature going on.
Police presence is all over the place. This is what it’s come to now in our schools. But the idiot no-religion, no-spanking soccer mom liberal crowd is to thank for all of this over the past generation. School admin and police are all that’s left now to deal with it. If it happened, I have zero faith that the authorities in this county would even subdue a crazed shooter if it started.
