Amazon filed a patent recently that suggests its Ring doorbell cameras may soon be able to identify “suspicious” people by scanning their skin texture, walking style, and voice. This represents the latest in Amazon’s growing push into biometric data collection.
The Ring patent, filed and awarded in the United States, is named “Neighborhood Alert Mode,” and essentially works as a digital neighborhood watch device. The patent would allow Ring doorbells to share a picture or video of a person it decides is suspicious to other Righ users in the area. Their doorbells will then begin recording the “suspicious” person even if the target never approaches the homeowner’s door.
Amazon’s patent lists a startling list of characters that could be used to identify “suspicious” people, including their body shape and “odor/scent.”
Biometric identifiers can be physiological characteristics and/or behavioral characteristics. Physiological characteristics may be related to the shape of the body. Examples include, but are not limited to, fingerprints, palm veins, facial recognition, three-dimensional facial recognition, skin texture analysis, DNA, palm prints, hand geometry, iris recognition, retina recognition, and odor/scent recognition. Behavioral characteristics may be related to the pattern of behavior of a person, including, but not limited to, typing rhythm, gait, and voice recognition.
Amazon’s Ring devices have faced serious security issues in the past with outside hackers managing to gain access to the devices and talk to people that use them in their homes. Read more at Business Insider here.

In before that little black boy starting complaining that “That’s Racist!!”
AI that profiles!
The smile that says “I got The Saline, you vaxx test dummy”...
“sharks with frickin’ laser beams!”
Will it have settings like “Feral Minors,” “Urban Yutes” and “LGBTQWERTY” types?
And there he goes!
Juggling every ‘forbidden’ icon there is.
Somewhere, the heads, they are exploding!
Like the kernels of the popcorn bag in my microwave.
Grab some, get some!
He may have a lot of money but he is still one ugly SOB, inside and out.
Wish he would fly to Pluto one way on his penis-shaped spaceship.
Those .45 records could project un-holy images into the minds of American yutes.
WW2 Europe was aghast at American swing and jazz and actively fought against it.
The vehicle for all of this was electricity, the pre-cursor of electronics, the parents of the cyberworld.
History in a nutshell to chew on.
But not "skin color!"
No, that would be ra-acist!
Regards,
A doorbell that profiles and shares that with all the other doorbells in the neighborhood .... lawsuit waiting to happen. Lawyers, get ready .... get set ....
They weren’t wrong about rock music.
Much of it isn’t morally upright in terms of the lyrics or the sexual danxing it evokes.
Even fhe term rock and roll refers to a car bumping around because a couple is having sex in the back seat.
Lets not sit here and play innocent about it.
Further there are even branches of satanic rock that aren’t actors, but real satanists. Most rap music is deliberately angry to get people in a violent fighting mood.
You have to be careful what music you listen to. Not all music is equal.
I'm 73 now, but was born again at 33 (yes, that WILL preach), and my fundamental Baptist consciousness rejects most modern "music" and struggles with fond memories of music before 1981.
You've picked up on the gist of what I was trying to say and now, as I look upon the world I helped create ... I'm not so happy and take seriously, "Olde too soon get we, schmaht, too late"
i definitely like certain bands and styles
and even the light pleasant stuff can have really bad messages
buti do not listen to quite a bit of stuff, delivebately so
theres a certain bad vibe certain genres have, and i avoid them entirely
The AI doorbells can also argue with the Jehovah’s Witnesses...so you don’t have to...
And they sing, because it’s the future and doorbells sing...
So, “Ring” is profiling on steroids.
