In most states, you cannot put workers on unpaid leave to avoid paying unemployment.

Non-compete clauses are only valid when getting paid; USSC.

Nice move, United. Send ‘em all home without pay. That’ll show those miscreants who’s the boss! *spit*

“There are ways employees can get back at United. Engine maintenance is key to an airline’s reputation”.

Yeah, until a malfunctions happens at 35,000 feet with a full load of passengers.

I’d think maintenance would just say the plane isn’t good to go.

Torturing employees to “keep everybody safe” from sniffles.

You can’t make up this stuff.

Where on earth do people get crazy ideas like this?

Let’s try this, please cite the specific Supreme Court decision that you think states this principle.

I’m with TexasGurl, non-compete agreements can and do happen after you leave employment.

So are YOU the technician that “accidentally” neglects a piece of safety wiring that causes an aircraft to auger in, killing all on board.

That was likely one of the stupidest statements I have read here, and I’ve read some dillies!

I actually KNOW aircraft techs, and to a man they would likely slap you out of that level of idiocy.

Right. But it’s still not good to sabotage something that can possibly kill people.

Play golf with a United jet engine mechanic. Said on Christmas Eve not enough pilots. Cancellations.

You don’t have to sabotage anything, just slow down the process. But I don’t think United will mind because they don’t have the aircrews to man them.

Eastern Airlines employees sabotaged planes when the company went under. I know several people who had to fix the sabotaged planes. Top notch troubleshooters, too.

“There are ways employees can get back at United. Engine maintenance is key to an airline’s reputation.”

You do realize that you can be arrested under the current anti-terrorism laws for what you just said?

That’s good to hear but there is no excuse for sabotaging something like an engine that can result in deaths.
