Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes has been found guilty on 4 counts of wire fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud after 7 days of jury deliberation. Jurors found her not guilty on four other counts and failed to reach a verdict on three others. Her trial spanned more than four months and featured bombshell testimony from investors, ex-employees, and Holmes herself.

She probably got jury points for playing the female victim card.

And the female card — specifically the attractive young bottle-blonde card — is how she secured investors in the first place.

From the article: Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes has been found guilty on 4 counts of wire fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud after 7 days of jury deliberation.

She was charged with 9 counts but EACH of the counts carries a sentence of up to 20 years, $250K fine and restitution.

She needs to get tagged the full 20 years, IMO.

As well as why she got away with it for so long.

She was a ver clever con artist. She positioned herself as a young, pretty science wunderkind and knew the media and celebrities would eat that up, giving her credibility with investors that she had no business having. All she had to do was be their token woman-in-STEM vision and celebs, the media, banks, investors would believe any outrageous claim. Clever, using their “we need to make someone an icon for the cause!” to steal a lot of dough.

I think the thing that weighed most heavily in her favor was the fact she did not dump her stock when things started to blow up. She went down with her ship. That meant the prosecution had a steeper hill to climb in order prove fraud.

Complete with the de-rigeur techie black turtleneck.
She’s such a tool and a grifter. Had half of the old fools in DC wrapped around her finger.

Word to defendants: Guys, you may be able to be women now, but your new gender is not a sure-fire get out of jail card.

Rob tens of thousands of hundreds of millions of dollars face 20 years..

Joke

This woman shouldn’t even have a chance of seeing the light of day until
She’s as old and feeble and mentally deficient as the fake president

"She needs to get tagged the full 20 years."

I don't know...she's way too good looking for that.. Some kind of backroom deal will transpire and she'll get off with maybe a year's worth of "community service". What that service might be is anyone's guess...

....if there is FRAUD involved IMMUNITY goes away.

Some of the anti vaxxers are beginning to talk about FRAUD and Conspiracy to Commit Fraud amongst the Big Pharma boys and girls execs.

To be as specific as possible.........”if the execs INTENTIONALLY sold the public bad jabs, that’s FRAUD and there is no immunity”.

The problem is proving it. You really have to have a smoking gun and that is doubtful.

“I think the thing that weighed most heavily in her favor was the fact she did not dump her stock when things started to blow up. She went down with her ship.”

She didn’t have any stock to sell. She settled with the Securities and Exchange Commission in 2018.
She settled the charges by paying a $500,000 fine, returning 18.9 million shares to the company, relinquishing her voting control of Theranos, and being barred from serving as an officer or director of a public company for ten years.
IIRC the criminal charges weren’t filed until after she settled with the SEC.

This woman is insane. Read about her desire to be Steve Jobs and her path of destruction to become him.

A part of playing the female card ... she now has a 5-month-old infant. When I heard she was pregnant, I figured it was a ploy to garner sympathy from the jury and during possible sentencing.

My burning question is whether she used her fake deep voice when testifying.

Her book and other media deals will be worth millions. I hope there’s a clawback plan.
