When the goal of the adminstration is making the citizens dependent, things like this happen. Besides it so much more economical and safe transporting by tanker truck and rail car tankers right? LGB!

Filthy rat donor Buffet had bought a huge ownership interest in a railroad so pipelines, its competition, had to get killed.

The Judge said that the plaintiff’s didn’t have standing. i.e. there was no harm, because the pipeline builder had abandoned the project. There was no point in ruling in the case, because the pipeline isn’t going to be built now.

And if the energy producers had any balls, they would immediately STOP All Sales and Deliveries of Fossil Fuel Energy to the entire Northeast

If you spend thousands building a house and the government revokes the building permit without legal justification, there is still a right to get compensation for the money already spent.

On June 9, TC Energy announced its intention to permanently halt construction of the pipeline, saying it would focus on other projects.

As if they had a choice.

The states are out possible property tax, sales tax and franchise tax revenue.

The states have been unlawfully injured and they deserve compensation.

January - Biden cancels the permit.

June - Company abandons the project.

January - Judge cannot understand cause & effect.

The builder only abandoned the project because Biden cancelled it.

But with an adversarial administration in place, I doubt the builder would start back even if the court ruled against Biden.

Hate to say it, but the judge and the builder probably are best waiting for an administration that has a clue.

And when Trump resumes office in 2024, he can rightly reinstate the contracts according to the same principles that the Judge used. Sadly, Biden killed it for now, but it can be resurrected.

It's dead Jim

Not really. An order dismissing a case is a final order and it is immediately appealable as a matter of right.

Since the Keystone Pipeline was shut down I have noticed a great increase in oil cars heading south on the KCS railroad near here.

A couple of weeks ago there was a very long train of brand new oil cars all heading south.

KCS is now owned by Canadian Pacific.

ruled that he couldn’t determine the constitutionality of President Joe Biden’s action because TC Energy, the pipeline’s developer, had abandoned the project.

What private company would wait seven months to see if they should close down a project when the buy said it was canceled? And this is the rational the Judge used? WTF, Judge get a real job, see what the real world requires!

Curious since this topic came up again... Has anyone else here done the “bigger picture” real homework and research about the pros and cons of the Keystone pipeline? I researched it for over a month when they were talking about building it and found BS talking points on both sides.

What I realized is if you completely remove the BS “environmental” excuses and reasoning, it still made no sense from an “economic” perspective in whole. There are a lot of misrepresentations including how many jobs it would have created in the end.

A hint in reasoning of the true situation would be... Low sulfur crude being piped to refineries that are already over burdened just trying to refine enough sweet crude to supply our own national needs. The EPA will never let us use and burn any fuels made from low sulfur crude in this country. It would all be refined for export only, but the added burden on the limited capacity of the refineries would double the price of domestic products we are allowed to burn here by the EPA.

As hard as it is for me to even think this, it may actually have a silver lining when the true economic cause and effect in the end is considered in the bigger picture. I know I will get hit for this... But there are a whole lot of real world aspects and variables not being considered with this.

stupid stupid reasoning

They re not pursuing the pipeline anymore so he doesn’t have to rule on it? DID THEY WITHDRAW THEIR LAWSUIT?

The constitutional question remains, whether or not the company pursues the pipeline.

Judge Jeffrey Brown, of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, ruled that he couldn’t determine the constitutionality of President Joe Biden’s action because TC Energy, the pipeline’s developer, had abandoned the project.

"I couldn't determine whether he killed her because she was dead."
