Why The Biden Admin’s Plan To Unionize The National Guard Is A Horrible Idea

America determined decades ago that unionizing the military was a terrible idea. Yet last month, the Biden administration’s Justice Department signaled in a court filing that National Guard troops on state active duty can organize as if they’re civilian first responders or civil servants, and members of the National Guard in Texas are now using the DOJ’s position as justification to start unionizing.

The filing arose from a case in Connecticut where the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), one of the largest unions in the United States with 1.6 million members, sued to demand that Connecticut National Guard members on state active duty had the right to unionize during the Covid-19 lockdowns.

I thought Obama would be horribly destructive to the country, but Biden said, “Hold my beer.”

Just remember - America’s Dept of Justice is the political/legal brain and nerve center of our massive Fed.gov. Every political program must past muster there so that it can apply “the law” as the state/leftists see fit. If not, it has the “law enforcement” which will take political dissenters down

Its the same role the KGB filled in the USSR

There should be no public sector unions. Any teacher or bureaucrat should be able to be fired without having to jump through years of legal hoops.

If this is such a great idea, why hasn’t he done it for the Reserves? It’s just a ploy to gain more federal control of States’ National Guards without the need to execute Presidential federalization of one or more of them.

I expect that he’s thinking about all the state guards he’s gonna need after 2022 and in the runup to 2024 elections.

Leader: “So all activated Guardsmen will now be assigned to sections of the city where new looting has been reported.”

Guard Union Leader: “Not so fast. We took a union vote and we refuse to go until our conditions for social work counseling and assessment of the racial components of the crowds have been met. We’re not going, sir.”

Agree...public sector unions are an abomination. A bunch of government employees that believe government is the answer, with no choices allowed. Purely political...and the National Guard is far more dangerous if it followed suit.

The only people needed to fight a real war are on active duty. Modern Kinetic Warfare is over in the first 3 days, the rest is UN or nation building.

If the national leadership decide russians need to die in Eastern Ukraine, we got a force of predictors in region that will send them back to the russian boarder in 30 minutes.

It is much easier and cheaper to cut Russia off from the SWIFT and VISA networks. If the oligarchy has to pay the bitcoin tax to move money or their staff to book international travel Putin will become a western peacenik really quick. He has just as many Mayor of Moscow problems as Biden has Mayor of DC issues.

We should have signed up Ukraine for NATO in 1998 as part of their nuclear disarment. But I think at the time the stained blue dress was more important.

“insurmountable limitations when applied to public personnel ...”

And income tax was a temporary measure to fund the war.

The goal of the Marxists currently in control is to separate the military from the mission to defend the Constitution and nation and instead defend the Democrat party. The PRC's PLC is beholden to the Communist party specifically - they serve the party's interest solely, not the people's - and this is exactly the model the Dems want for themselves.

The Democrats have been working hard to purge patriots and Constitutionalists from the military brass and install radical Marxists so that they can ensure they have the shock troops required to oppress an otherwise free American people.

See what happens when you ignore a bunch of Maoist loving hippies and let them walk into positions of power? This is what you get.
