Those idiots would roll into a shooting gallery, and try to drag NATO into this when they get hit.

“Furthermore, attacking fellow Eastern Slavs who are also Orthodox Christians is morally a big hit for Russians”

Didn’t seem to be a big hit when Kiev sent militias to attack Donbass and Lugansk.

*** Do they go to the Dnieper? ***

I would just because Ukraine has used it to punish Donetsk and Lugansk.

I felt if we negotiated allowing Western Ukraine to break-off and join NATO while demilitarizing the rest of Ukraine, and declaring it off limits to NATO and Russian troops, that could have worked.

Probably too late now.

they are first going after command and control, then anti aircraft then they will move to destroy Ukraine forces in the open-they are more mobile-they will avoid marching into Kiev

That would have been the smart thing. But we doubled down and literally told them we would do as we pleased in Ukraine. Then we shipped in a mountain of missiles to put a fine point on it.

They pretty much had no choice at that point other than to back down. They weren’t going to do that because it really was a security concern for them. So here we are.
And any bets on oil prices? think it’ll break 150?

Poland was saying they were planning for a million refugees.

[Yes, but Taiwan is far more difficult to invade than Ukraine]

Taiwan has 300 fighter/strike aircraft. That’s 200 more than the ex-Warsaw Pact and Baltic NATO states combined. Without the help of the old NATO countries, Putin could recreate the Warsaw Pact pretty easily - all he’d have to do is keep going past Ukraine.

Why is Poland worried about their security? There haven’t been any threats I’ve seen to roll into western Ukraine, much less Poland.

Isn’t almost the entire Ukro Armed Forces deployed to the D and LPRs for purposes of subjugating them? In which case this should be over fairly quickly with a classic pincer from North, South and East.

If refugees hit Poland they should bus them straight across to the German border.

I don’t blame them. At this point I have no idea what Putin’s plans are. I didn’t think he was capable of going this far, until he started saying some very concerning things a few days ago.

And Poles certainly don’t want Russian troops anywhere near their border.

[Poland was saying they were planning for a million refugees.]

Poland should worry about itself. Putin would probably slice through Poland like a knife through butter. Russia has 1400 strike aircraft. That’s 1300 more than Poland, the other ex-Warsaw Pact and Baltic states *combined*.

Putin would probably slice through Poland like a knife through butter.

I seriously doubt it. Look, if he wants to throw the whole weight against Poland, probably they could win, but the price would be very very high.

Wait a minute, I thought rolling right up to someone’s border and stopping there was not a threat. At least last week NATO rolling up to the Russian border was just a normal thing and not to be seen as a threat.
I can’t keep u.
