The WHO never saw a commodity it couldn’t tax for the good of the taxpayer.
My, my, they know they can’t try something like the 18th Amendment, so they will tax instead.
“The reduction in deaths from increased taxation...”
***********************************************************
I know what will save even more (far more) lives....go back to limited government and end these globalists organizations for good!
How long until a menthols tax?
Today, they have the technology to make the 18th Amendment work. If people keep restricting my rights, I am going to be in favor of restricting theirs. That is the way it works in a socialist country. Crabs in a pot.
The regressives didn’t learn their lesson from Prohibition in America and now they want to implement it globally. They need to be cast off.
Bubba the Predator called them “sin” taxes. That jackass!
We fund this crap. We print money to pay for this crap. We suffer from inflation because of this crap. I won’t even mention the massive cover up by the WHO over the China Pandemic. Just a bunch of globalist lying commies. Defund the WHO.
how does a government levied tax saves live?
the revenue from the tax will never reach its intended recipient.
it does reach the pockets of the bureaucrats and the politicians.
History repeats itself. Volstead Act killed hundreds of thousands as a result of the criminal and economic mayhem that curbs to alcohol consumption caused. But as usual we are destined to repeat mistakes bigger and better.
For cough drops?
I'm going to say no, as a going in and best-and-final position to any and all proposals and "findings" like this. No more taxes, no more money, no more power to any government or agency. Leave us the **** alone.
Perhaps the only significant "problem" and accompanying "solution" lately that hasn't directly dipped into my wallet has been the scam-demic. Of course they don't want my money (directly, though the government is paying big pharma truckloads of my tax dollars) they've upped their game with this one. Not only is it about money, it is about control of my own body and health. They want to be able to force me to take experimental injections as the "solution" to the so-called crisis.
If we taxed Bubba's predilection for underage girls, he'd be broke.
Well, one thing is for sure, Hunter isn’t giving up his booze, drugs, and hoes.
I actually used to know an old guy who believed we should try prohibition again. I said to him that it didn’t work last time, what made him think it would now? He said, “Well, last time they didn’t implement it right”. He was a nice old guy and I didn’t feel like arguing with him or asking him details on his idea of “proper implementation” regarding something that wasn’t going to happen anyway. But it still amazed me that someone today could think prohibition could be made workable.
Absolutely. They will be crushed up and smoked in cigarettes if it’s available. Besides, a cough means you need another jab, not self medicating a pandemic virus infection.
I translate “Well, last time they didn’t implement it right” to “We did not use enough force and punishment.”
Sin tax is an old term of taxing to deter undesirable behavior. But as always, these punish the working class and only the wealthy can afford to be naughty. Or rather, afford freedoms.
As designed.
