Necessity is the mother of invention.
Russian convoys navigating hostile and dangerous territory in Ukraine have taken up a very peculiar way of fortifying their trucks in order to survive Ukrainian attacks, according to a tweet shared on Saturday by the cohost and editor of TheOsintBunker.
They are using wooden logs to armor their convoy trucks.

Not sure if this will work in this case.
That’s for the mud.
I thought he said wooden legs - now that would be something!
Ya, I’m sure this is not propaganda. It would be nice if we had just one western media outlet that didn’t outright lie about absolutely everything. In fact, if you assume everything they say is a lie you will closer to the facts.
When the bullets start flying, any extra cover is welcome.
Our boys did similar things to their Shermans in WW2.
I watched an interview with one of the best German tank aces of WWII. When asked how he got so many kolls, he said you always take out the first and the last enemy tanks in a convoy, so the ones in the middle get trapped, and then you have more time to pick them off. The Ukrainians seem to be using this same tactic.
I’m pretty sure we saw this picture days ago.
The Soviets used sheet metal and fencing around the T34’s when rolling into Berlin. The Panzerfausts worked anyway. Modern antitank weapons have primary and secondary projectiles to defeat this type of pre triggering.

This was also done as recently as the Battle of Grozny.
Hmmm German tank tactics from ww2. Seens the Ukrainians learned a lot from the nazis
GIs used logs strapped to their Shermans to try to defeat panzerfausts. They also used piled sandbags. The Russians did so as well and this may be an effort to defeat the Javelins. However the Javelin has two warheads so if the reactive armor defeats the first warhead the second hits the armor.
The Javelin also attacks from above. The targeting computer sends it on a flight path up to 450 feet above the target. It then quickly pitches downward to attack the top of the target, where armor is typically weakest.
What a clever post.
Presumably those trucks can be neutralized by cheaper alternatives like heavy machine guns which are probably more plentiful.
Most Russian success is occurring in the south where the Russian Navy is able to land troops and supplies without much disruption. That could change if the Ukrainians obtain more jets armed with air to ship missiles or long range drones similarly armed.
Killing commies never goes out of style.
—”One way to deal with massive invading army is to allow them to advance deep into a well-fortified location”
Mao Tse-tung enumerated the basic tactics of guerrilla warfare as follows:
“The enemy advances, we retreat; the enemy camps, we harass; the enemy tires, we attack; the enemy retreats, we pursue.”
Yeah! I heard that American troops in Afghanistan had to use horses for combat operations and transportation!! You are correct. The propaganda is deep
