Of course it is - he read that in the papers which reprinted the stories he ordered them to print.

The fact that he can’t say “real” defeat (which is what the stories are inferring) gives the lie to this tale.

Or as Harry Reid would say: “It worked, didn’t it?”

Everything is to placate the markets. That’s why the whole Ruble oil thing isn’t in any mainstream paper or media source.

I like how this article on FR about Blinken claiming Russia has suffered a strategic defeat came right after the one claiming that Europe is now rationing fuel and food, and the USA isn’t far behind.

LOL! Propaganda is everywhere!

Claim the Russians lost and move on. Pretty sure that was the plan from the start no matter what happened.

What about Ukraine not joining NATO?
Wasn’t that a primary goal.
What about stopping Ukraine ability to strike civilians in the east?
By systemtatic destruction of Uke military that did not surrender.
Wasn’t that a primary goal?
Ukrainian bio labs….still in operation?
Ukraine statements about renuclearization…still a plan?

Blinken is a blinken fool and thinks his audiences believe him.

Blinky said this? Wow! He’s a bigger genius than that Messican guy, Beto O’Rourke.

I don’t think our government knows how much damage they did to themselves in the eyes of smaller countries, this is similar to when big tech censors true factual stories....we leave the platform and talk about it anyways.

I hope this is going to make crypto explode and hopefully a privacy crypto where the transactions can’t be traced.

The US has also seen an even greater strategic defeat - self-inflicted by the likes of Blinken and Bidet.

If you set up goals that are far beyond Putin’s, then it was a defeat.

But if you look at what he has grabbed, it is a huge victory. Western Ukraine is now Russian — done, fait accomplait. And, the Russians are on the verge of complete control of the north coast of the Black Sea all the way to Crimea. A huge strategic gain for them. Plus, they now control the huge oil and gas fields on the north end of the Black Sea. Europe just got more dependent on Russian oil and gas.

Blinken is only making bizarre statements like this to make Biden look like a successful war president before the midterms.

"If you step back and look at this, this has already been a dramatic strategic setback for Russia"

Wishful thinking to say the least from a dim wit, who along with Victoria Nuland, took the actions that caused this war.

Operation Barbarossa was a “strategic defeat” for the Soviets.

Actually, the Russian goals were 1) Demilitarization of Ukraine 2) De-Nazfying it 3) Freeing the people of Donbass from an eight-year war perpetrated by Azov bastards 4) getting the water flow turned back on to Crimea and 5) Recognition of the DPR, LPR and Crimea as independent states or part of Russia.

The later one might be the only one they don't get but those areas will be under Russian protection.
