Donald Trump has long equated crowd size with success ― reportedly even bragging of the size of the mob that attacked the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, in an attempt to block the certification of the election and keep him in power.
GOP strategist Susan Del Percio said Trump’s now falling short by that measure as his rally crowds shrink.
“That’s what you saw there,” she told MSNBC’s Cori Coffin one day after Trump addressed a surprisingly sparse crowd in Selma, North Carolina. “A very shrinking base.”
Local newspaper The News & Observer said Trump spoke to about 1,000-2,000 people ― a far cry from the 15,000 that turned out for him at the same venue in 2016.

It’s an odd time for a political rally. Here in early 2022 I wouldn’t go out of my way to attend a rally for a guy who isn’t a political candidate and isn’t in office.
LOL! Dream on. We’ll see if Trump’s base is shrinking in 2024. I’m willing to bet his base is bigger than ever come the next elections.
Rewatch Elmer Gantry.
Rush always said that there is NO WAY the media could take down Trump, since the media didn’t create him. Only Trump could take down Trump.
Trump endorsed Dr. Oz for US Senate from Pennsylvania this weekend.
As usual, I believe Rush was right.
This article is simple information warfare by a democrat leftist.
I support Trump. He has my vote for 2024.
Having said that, I do wish he had not endorsed Dr. Oz. That guy is bad news, and Trump should see it and reject him. Trump has not shown great skill in choosing people (this surprises me very much). The “elite” of society are never the people to choose.
Izzat the same venue that had very bad weather at the time? I recall a post here about one such happening...and given the spate of really bad weather fronts sweeping across the South, probably will happen again.
As any farmer knows...you can’t plan the weather....
If Trump is yesteray’s news, like the Huff Post and MSNBC claim, then why should it matter who he endorses? I didn’t intend to vote for Oz and who endorses him will not change that.
Trump lost my support with his endorsement of Dr Oz.
Too many times, Trump has chosen poorly and it is clearly an issue.
I will support DeSantis in the primary. If Trump prevails, I will support him in the general, but he lost me for the primary.
Reality is probably somewhere in between. I quit watching the rallies in 2020 because once you've seen one, the rest are pretty much the same, at least for that season. Doesn't change my support.
With no real current outlet and it not being major political season I would expect honestly crowds to shrink.
Come fall if they are still low then we can talk.
Trump will get my vote mostly because he is the only candidate that I trust to actually oppose the globalists and has any hope of winning.
I lave nearby and was considering attending until I read that the capacity of the venue was listed at 500.
AND ANOTHER article claiming Trump is past his prime or an article claiming Trump is losing his base. Ergo, we need another candidate. Someone like Pence......... (Wonder who arranged for this piece to be written).
(The rally was high in numbers (don’t have actual count, but when combined with television numbers, it’s safely over 250k watching. On the ground, RSBN stated reports of some people waiting over 7 hours in standing room only to see the rally. It was chilly as well in North Carolina. But the real response came when President Trump asked the crowd if they wanted him to run again. The place erupted in cheers, big, loud and long. It’s why this article was written.)
When you put in the energy to watch the rallies, then read the articles and actually question as you read, the asinine tactics deployed to ruin the man become clear.
Given how the election paradigm has changed, are Trump’s rallies a truly effective campaign tool? Are GOTV battles now won or lost in social media and harvesting? Trump’s rallies have an old style tent revival aura, but is he only preaching to his faithful?
How conservative is Susan Del Percio??
Fact 1: She was named special advisor to New York Governor Andrew Cuomo in 2014.
I’m still wondering how we could have walked into that trap on Jan. 6, especially after the leftists had pulled that on us several times in city demonstrations.
That was what did it for me. I will never vote for a stealth RINO who has never lived in Pennsylvania. If Oz wants to be a Senator, let him run in New Jersey or go back to Turkey.
If Trump runs in 2024, he will not get my vote in the primary. I will vote for Ron Desantis, Steven K Bannon or Marjorie Taylor Greene.
Endorsing RINO’s is the kiss of death for a MAGA leader, especially during a wave election.
In my last posting, I made the statement of total attendance probably being 250k easy. This assumption was made with my own guess of numbers on the ground at the rally, and combining that with numbers watching on Youtube, Rumble and Bitchute. I could be off, but not by a lot.
