Oberlin College REFUSES to pay $33m in damages to family-run bakery that called cops on three black students for shoplifting.......
Bully dean Meredith Raimondo falsely accused them of racial profiling and set woke mob on them.
Oberlin has arrogantly declared that it still won’t pay out after losing in state court ......
Meredith Raimondo has landed on her feet with a cozy new college job in Georgia despite her appalling behavior.
I’ll say it again - “academics” are usually the most reactionary, narrow-minded, and stupid people you will ever meet.
“If that were one of us, we’d be thrown in jail for contempt.”
Perhaps, after seizing whatever property you had towards the value of the judgement.
Place a lien on the university applied against their entire “working” assets et al.
Now YA’ll see the idiocy of expecting courts to fix your problems. Courts have NO power of enforcement.
The executive enforces court rulings if it wants to.
Keep your guns and aim and shoot small.
Liberals are bullies...
You are not supposed to call the police.
You are supposed to let them come into your bakery and create a fuss, make threats, steal your merchandise and sent them off with a cheery good-bye.
OR, pack up your inventory and GET OUT OF THERE.
Overwhelming, misbehaving citizens do not deserve any retail stores anywhere them.
Find the corporate officers who made the decision guilty of contempt of court.
Pet peeve as this point is commonly misstated: “Settlement” is when people come to agreement that a certain amount is to be paid. “Judgment” is the amount due after a finding for the plaintiff at trial. This is a judgment, not a settlement
“...the corporate officers who made the decision...”
Those might be some minorly Deep Pockets to tap at first.
It would also be karmic.
Fixed it.
How about endowments?
Shut the college down. End its existence. What good are they doing now? Track down “Raimondo,” and put that skank in prison.
Good Point.
THAT should be easy money.
Not sure where Oberlin stands with being “Well Endowed”.
I like what one poster said: pay up, morons, or the sheriff will start padlocking the dormitories.
“How the heck if Oberlin (”i” not a”) college getting away with refusing to pay a court ordered settlement???????
Hey, that is what black privilege is all about!
Something tells me that the insurance company will not happy to pony up the money if these idiots don’t pay up.
Seems like the insurance company made a bad decision to co-sign these idiots in the first place.
Maybe conservatives should start ordering a product from Gibson’s bakery every month or every couple of weeks to help them stay in business until they receive their funds from Oberlin.
Padlock the Bursar’s Office, the Prezzy’s Office and the Admissions Office too.
Hopefully the County has a Constitutional Sheriff.
The family probably should call J.G. or some company like them at this point in order to get enough money to go live somewhere else and temporarily, at least, shut down the bakery.
I’ve heard Oberlin had wanted to buy their building and turn it in dorms or offices and that is why they encouraged the protests.
It would be funny if the family refurbished the building into apartments and rented them out at low cost to community college students.
