What IS its identity ? Can you define it ? It's a schizophrenic state that's been profoundly corrupt for most of its short incarnation. On ethnicity alone, the eastern half should've been reunited with Russia. The western half might've had more of an argument to be a separate nation, though even the westernmost end was stolen from Poland by the Soviets.
