A Russian official has boasted that Russia would destroy NATO countries in "half-an-hour" if conflict escalated to the use of nuclear weapons.
Dmitry Rogozin, Head of Russia’s Space Agency Roscosmos and former Deputy Prime Minister, said Sunday that in the event of a nuclear war, "NATO countries will be destroyed by Russia in half-an-hour."

He stressed that such an event "cannot be allowed because the consequences will impact the [entire] Earth."

Russia would be reduced to rubble at the same time; there will be no winner in that one. If we are involved as our treaty requires the same goes for us. China and India will be waiting to pick up the pieces. If we’re smart, we’ll take out China rather than have our few survivors become serfs to Chinese masters.

I’m not worried about Russia nuking our cities, as they have far more options to ‘send a message’, both involving nukes and not involving nukes. I’m confident that the West will get the message before cities end up fried.
The problem, though, is once The West is shown to be defeated, how will it stand up to China (i.e., the real threat to the world)?
Russia spans 12 full time zones it has twice the land area of Europe or the USA. They also take civil defence seriously. Moscow and St. Petersburg both have enough fall out shelter space with blast doors deep underground for every citizen of those cities. They also stock pile food underground. Contrary to what ignorant people think fallout doesn’t kill for thousands or even dozens of years peak fallout rads happen within a few hours after and fall rapidly over the next 30 days since most of the fission products have short half lives. The longer a half life the less it’s activity in gamma,beta or alpha decay the relationship is nonlinear. Even if you were directly in the peak fallout tail of a megaton class ground burst with 10000+ REM per hour levels a few hours after detonation three months later you could walk across the same patch of earth to safety in an area not directly in that plume path in less than ten years you could live in that earth with only slightly higher back ground rads. Survival is contingent on having at least a protection factor of at least 10000 for at least three weeks. Ten feet of moist earth give that level of protection. It has always been Russian doctrine to ride out a nuclear exchange they have so much remote land mass that there will always be land to.grow food no matter how much warheads we throw at them. All of this brave talk about nuclear war is really due to one thing, consciousness of guilt. The Russians know they are doing a bad thing in Ukraine and they realize that the rest of the world would be technically within their rights to assist Ukraine even more strongly than at present, with an assault on Russia, who have launched a war of aggression that is explicitly sanctioned by international law (not the new world order but the pre-existing world order).
And of course we are under that condition of nuclear blackmail where we cannot safely intervene at that level, in fact we are rolling the dice intervening at the level we have done so far.
I don’t know how this ends, my only reliable guide would be Biblical prophecy which looks very similar to this situation leading up to a final phase which has not happened yet.

If Ukraine is the “whore of Babylon” and Russia represents the beast on which she rides, then the question becomes this — what is Babylon, of which Ukraine is the whore? Is Babylon some city of the west, or Moscow? In some ways, Ukraine has been a whore of the globalist west. In others, it has taken money from Moscow and up until recently was not an enemy of Russia at all. So we cannot really tell, the fall of Babylon would match Biblical prophecy if any great city were to fall.
The key seems to be that only one city falls, although another passage in the Revelation prophecy does speak of the fall of the cities of the nations. Immediately after the fall of Babylon, Christ returns to the earth. Following that the final stages of the battle(s) of Armageddon bring about the defeat of the beast and the onset of the Kingdom.
We will have to keep watching and praying in these perilous times. It unsettles me to realize that in all the western (NATO) countries, people have largely turned away from if not fully against the word of God. We as individuals may honor that word, but the larger society around us do not. Therefore these societies have no reason to expect mercy or protection, any more than the thug Putin and his criminal gang. Which side is morally worse? It’s a toss up at this point.
Nor is Ukraine a particularly evil country, the ordinary citizens of Ukraine probably deserve this disruption less than many others. They have been presented with murky political choices that range from collaboration with Putin to subservience to the globalist ideology. I don’t know if they had any pure choices in their most recent elections, in Canada I know that the only untainted choice received the support of a massive 5% of the voting public and the semi-tainted alternative 35%. We don’t know the real numbers in America, just the made up globalist numbers which are probably a fiction.
I think God would intervene before this reached any final stage of mutual annihilation. But we would improve our chances by returning to God as national societies, and renounced the demonic works of globalism.
Both Russia and we would lose in 30 minutes. Our ballistic missile subs insure this. Some of ours will launch but some will not. The first launch insures total almost total destruction. The second launch is to just clean up what has not been destroyed. If all communication to our subs have been lost, they have a list of targets and they will launch.
It is that terrifyingly simple.

If they want to destroy Europe over this idiotic Ukraine misadventure, then we just have to light their funeral pyre and move on from there.

I don't quite agree with that statement. North Korea only has a few nukes and we might be able to shoot down some or most of them and limit the damage, though even one would do a hell of a lot of damage.
On the other hand, Russia has thousands, and an exchange would leave a totally new world.
Of course life will go on but thinking that they can just merrily ride out the destruction of every city and their entire military is silly.
Whatever they like about their lives can be incinerated and we don’t have to tolerate those who emerge from the shelters either.

Bottom line is when kooks start threatening you with nuclear war you let them know they will be the first to die.
The landscape after that exchange will be radically different. You might come out of those shelters to encounter American, or more likely, Chinese troops.
China would sure love that productive land and access to Europe.

We’ve been in plenty of conflicts, many fueled by the Russians (Vietnam) and we NEVER were so irresponsible as to start threatening nuclear war when something didn’t go our way.
The Russians need to remove Putin before that thug gets them all killed.
They are a very dangerous nuclear enemy, but if they start throwing nukes they will be decimated.
