Construction machinery company Caterpillar announced it would relocate its headquarters from Illinois to Texas after 100 years to 'attract new talent.'
The company announced the news on Tuesday that it would be moving to Irving sometime this year and would be relocating most of its staff. The company told Fox News that it believes most of its roughly 230 Deerfield corporate employees will move.
The company - which boasts more than 100,000 employees globally - has had a presence in the Republican state since the 1960s, but Illinois remained the largest concentration of employees in the world, Fox News reported.
Caterpillar to relocate its HQ from Illinois to Texas after 100 years because it will 'attract new talent and opportunities' as it joins Elon Musk's Tesla as latest firm to leave woke state

Same with Caterpillar.
It’s SAD that the upstate leftist DemocRATS are destroying the business environment in the entire state with the result that businesses in the rest of the state are leaving for greener pastures or going out of business entirely.
Yee haw!
Welcome to Texax, Cat!
Texas.... 🙃
Because smart people don’t like living in blue state hell holes 🤪
Because the talent that made CAT the world leader just ain’t woke enough.
CAT offered me a job in 1966. I asked them what they had west of the Mississippi? They said “nothing”. I told them thanx anyway but I wasn’t interested in the dumbass zone. Putting something in Texas might help them thataway. Only took six decades to dawn on them.
I wonder when WeatherTech will leave.
No, because they can’t get actual talent there any more, and both JCB and Komatsu are starting to eat their lunch. They’ve seen how this movie ends and they don’t want to stick around for the ending.
Seems like corporations are realizing that they do not want to be headquartered in a blue state after George Floyd riots and COVID-19 shutdowns.
This move is a pretty big deal. When will they begin to move more mfg out of Peoria? Same goes for John Deere. They have several facilities in Moline and Rock Island. They could just as easily move across the river to Iowa.
Caterpillar and John Deere are really great companies. Any state or community would be lucky to have them.
Can he name any with as many employees?
Can he name any at all?
Ruger has been doing this for a while. Pretty much all their manufacturing is now in “red” states, but Corporate is still in CT for the time being. I wonder how long that will last.
WERE lucky to have them. Deere recently announced that it is going to outsource some of the Iowa production to... China.
Weathertech needs to do the same.
Another walking delusion.
The issue not being discussed is local county commissioners peeing themselves to grant Caterpillar generous tax abatements while tax appraisals for local homeowners continue an almost vertical climb.
So they’re going to wait 100 years to do it? No problem then

That seems rare to me - typically employees have pretty strong local ruts, so they don’t like to pull up and leave. In this case, they’re corporate types, but even so...
Tells me that things must be really bad in Illinois, maybe worse than Ukraine.
