Arlington National Cemetery would be required to disinter the remains of a former Navy officer who murdered a junior sailor decades ago under a proposed amendment to the annual defense budget bill.
Rep. Jackie Speier (D-Calif.) submitted the measure last week during the House Armed Services Committee’s markup of the proposed legislation. No one on the panel objected.

Wasn’t there a recent president who was selling Arlington burial plots to his donor friends?
I wish she would accept a friendly amendment to take Robert McNamara out of there. He has a large monument, very visual, up by JFK’s burial place. Neither the location nor the marking is deserved.
As well as no memorial stone larger than John J. Pershing’s.
So should both Kennedys. They had Marilyn killed to shut her up about the affair ahead of the elections.
The aptly named Robert Strange McNamara should be buried in absolute obscurity ... find him a nice resting place outside lovely, scenic Barrow AK.
You said the name of the divine Kennedys....all must genuflect!
I was hoping they were talking about Teddy K.
The only thing I ever found entertaining about McNamara was that he was the original target for kidnapping of the Symbionese Liberation Army, they missed him so they took poor Patty Hearst instead. Somehow I can’t imagine McNamara in a beret, robbing a bank with these bozos and taking the name “Tanya” like Patty Hearst did. There is a most interesting story about how an artist on Martha’s Vineyard, whose brother suffered lifetime injuries in VN, took great offense at McNamara’s continuing loud partying with the elites on the ferry to MV. He had him called out on deck and threw him overboard into the icy water; McNamara tenaciously held on and was rescued but never pressed charges against the artist.
Read the article. Committed murder in 1991 and executed by state of Virginia in 1993. Only two years! Yes, he elected to not pursue further appeals but still, that was quick. Quicker than McVeigh, I think.
Us freepers got M. Larry Lawrence dug up and shipped back to California in the dead of night back in late 1997.
Eschoir was saddened.
Divine Kennedys? More like the Dead Kennedys! I’ll genuflect for them!
This policy explains one of the guys in my BCT platoon in 1969. It was obvious that the guy had Downs Syndrome and that he had the intelligence and the demeanor of a 5 year old...which is typical of Downs Syndrome. There's no way he should have been in the military. And the drill sgts rode him as hard as "Private Pyle" was ridden. He eventually went AWOL.
Project 100,000, aka McNamara’s Folly. Like a lot of such projects it turned out to be a waste of time. My recollection is that statistically employment prospects when out weren’t much different than non low IQ troops. That was one of the “reasons” for the program. If I recall correctly the only area they diverged from the larger sample was combat deaths. No politician of the time would care about that. Heck, that was around 100,000 draftees they didn’t draft.
With the shortages they are getting in recruiting for the services now due to Biden and his minions, they may have to revert to that policy.
There are a surprising number of Kennedy worshipers on this site. I thought WV was bad for that! In WV every November here, there is a chorus of claims of how perfect the world would be if he had lived.
I'd go with the Alaskan Peninsula, city / town Adak. (Lower / most western end of the Peninsula.)
Just drop his sorry A$$, approx. 50 miles true north would work, right in the middle of nowhere in the Bering sea.
Crabs, would clean up the mess.

ALL murderers should be executed that quick.
I wish she would accept a friendly amendment to take Robert McNamara out of there. He has a large monument,Is it a South Viet Names flag? Or a Ford Thunderbird?
Get ted kennedy the hell out then!
This guy had more right to be in there then him.
