Instead Of Praising Death Of Roe v. Wade, Russell Moore Breaks Silence To Trash Trump And His Voters
The Federalist ^ | JULY 29, 2022 | KYLEE GRISWOLD

Russell Moore, one of the biggest names in modern evangelicalism, broke his silence on the overturning of Roe v. Wade during a panel at a recent Ethics and Public Policy Center event, a video of which was posted online in early July.

As I noted last month, Moore’s public muteness on the matter might have seemed odd to some, not only because the religious leader has both “public” and “theology” in his current title at Christianity Today, but because he’s been a longtime voice in the pro-life movement. But it made sense to anyone who’s followed Moore’s trajectory. After years of dragging down Trump-supporting evangelicals — voters who made a careful calculation and helped install the president who confirmed three conservative Supreme Court justices that made up the Dobbs majority — there wasn’t much Moore could have said but mea culpa.

Oh, but never underestimate the hubris of an ear-tickled right-wing defector, especially one with a track record like Moore. In his social media absence, he came up with something to say that didn’t include admitting error: Nope, overturning a deadly precedent that ruled for half a century and resulted in more than 63 million lives...

Here’s an operative exchange between Moore and Time magazine national political correspondent Molly Ball:

MOLLY BALL: I’m sure this is an argument that you heard a lot, that we all heard a lot in the Trump years, this idea that sort of a vulgar vessel was necessary to achieve holy aims. And in the wake of this decision, a lot of those people are taking a victory lap, saying, see? We were right. He gave us what we wanted. Are they, in fact, vindicated?

Never heard of him. Cannot be THAT “big”
of a name.

No respect for a pastor who trashes voters.

Moore was once a big name in the Southern Baptist Convention, President of the “Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission” of the SBC, but left in disgust over the sexual assault allegations and other differences he had with the more traditional stances of the denomination. Ironically, he’d be perfectly at home in the SBC today since it has gone so radically woke.

Mr. Moore seems to have emotional problems every 28 days or cracks under a little pressure occasionally.

“A lot of people may not know this, but I happen to be quite famous” - Sam Malone (character on Cheers, Red Sox pitcher turned bartender)

I can picture this Russell Moore saying something like that.

Regardless of what they might claim, anyone and any group based in Washington DC is a political group, above all else.

Gaywads aren’t the only ones who turn on people who listen to and try to help them.

The pseudo-evengelistas are ANGRY. They like their little stalking game. They like it when someone blows up a clinic or murders a doctor. Now someone has ruined their game and to add insult to injury made it a LOT harder for people to kill innocent babies and it was Trump so that’s TWICE the insult and wow, we’ll probably never hear the end of it.

“Someone ended Roe v Wade in America and solved a terrible social problem, restored faith and integrity to the US Supreme Court, and saved future generations of human beings. AND WE ARE NOT GONNA LET YOU BA$TARDS GET AWAY WITH IT!!!! ..... love you, Jesus!”

He’s a guy who for YEARS headed up a committee on ethics and morality for the Southern Baptist Convention. I think he did more to turn people AWAY from the SBC than anything else. In the end, he left the SBC because it wasn’t woke enough for him - and because many SBC members supported Trump!

I fully expect this wolf in sheep’s clothing to start promoting homosexuality and transgendered perversion within the next 2 years. Maybe sooner.

The shame of the SBC is that the guy existed as a paid and highly influential staff member in the leadership ranks of the SBC for so many years without anyone realizing he ALWAYS turned to the left....
