McDonald’s Cuts McPlant Burger from Menu After Trial Run

Fast-food company McDonald’s has decided following a trial run that it will pull the McPlant from the menu of some of its U.S. eateries for the time being, Fox 9 reported on August 1.

The McPlant is a plant-based burger co-developed with the company Beyond Meat, according to the McDonald’s website.

“It’s sizzled on a flat iron grill, then topped with slivered onions, tangy pickles, crisp shredded lettuce, Roma tomato slices, ketchup, mustard, mayo and a slice of melty American cheese on a toasted sesame seed bun. There are 510 calories in the McPlant,” the site read.

CNBC reported on July 28 that analyst research found “lackluster demand for the meatless burger.”

Yeah but you cant make it not taste like crap. Carnivores eat meat. They know what it tastes like.

Frankly “McPlant” sounds disgusting. Were they trying to fail?

The health food pressure ended up being virtue signaling. At the point of sale they said “Uh, make that Big Mac combo with large fries and a large chocolate shake.”

1991:
Before McDonald’s settled into offering both indulgent and healthy options on the menu, it tried the McLean Deluxe during the fad diet craze of the early 1990s. The sandwich, which launched in 1991, was purported to be lighter than a Big Mac. McDonald’s used seaweed extract as a binder to create the 91 percent fat-free burger.

Surprisingly, the McDogshyte Shake was also equally unsuccessful.

Yeah but the meat was grown on the hoof, not multiplied in a giant vat from cells. I don’t do that chopped and formed stuff and I’m really not even all that big on burgers and never have been.

Robert Plant video.... (LOL)

Eric Clapton after he broke up the terrific group Cream (my all time favorite) said he couldn’t listen to successor Led Zeppelin because “I just can’t stand listening to all the high pitched tenor screeching of the singing.” Subtly insulting.😇

I’ve had it a few times just because I was trying not to eat animal protein until dinner time. It wasn’t bad, it just didn’t have much flavor.

I do not think they were wrong to try it. After all if they did not try new things we would not have the Big Mac or the fillet-o-fish. But when you get push back you pull it and say ok, that didn't work and go on.

My former cat (RIP) used to LOVE crickets ... the big, fat black ones. She’d catch them and crunch them right on down; however, she always did one thing before she started munching .... something to remember if they go to McBugs ... pull the legs off first (no meat, hard shell, kinda’ spiney in places).
