Five Takeaways From Tuesday’s Elections
NYT ^ | Aug 10, 2022 | Jazmine Ulloa and Reid J. Epstein

The day after F.B.I. agents searched his home in Mar-a-Lago, former President Donald J. Trump yet again illustrated his electoral pull on the Republican Party.

In a series of primaries in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Vermont and Connecticut on Tuesday — and in a newly conceded race from last week’s election in Washington State — Mr. Trump’s candidates scored victories and his enemies drew defeats, with a notable exception.

In a series of primaries in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Vermont and Connecticut on Tuesday — and in a newly conceded race from last week’s election in Washington State — Mr. Trump’s candidates scored victories and his enemies drew defeats, with a notable exception.

Tony Evers, Wisconsin’s Democratic governor, was always going to be in trouble.

He was facing a prospective showdown against either Tim Michels, a millionaire construction magnate endorsed by Mr. Trump, or Rebecca Kleefisch, the state’s lieutenant governor who had the backing of former Vice President Mike Pence. On Tuesday night, Mr. Evers learned his Republican rival would be Mr. Michels, the latest victor of the power struggle across the country between Trump Republicans and establishment Republicans.

"Mr. Trump’s candidates scored victories and his enemies drew defeats, with a notable exception."

Then the slimes fails to specify the exception. I assume it was for the WI Speaker mentioned later in the article: "Robin Vos, the speaker of the Wisconsin Assembly, came within a whisker of losing on Tuesday to a candidate with little name recognition, all thanks to a Trump endorsement. The near miss for Mr. Vos, the most powerful Republican in Wisconsin politics, shows just how crucial that endorsement can be in the land of cheese and election rejection."

Even North Korea has “elections”.

What matters is who counts the votes and what “votes” count.

If Pence runs he will be the Jeb Bush candidate, getting jeered and mocked wherever he goes.

No respect.

_____________

True. Pence has thrown away any respect conservatives had for him. But he, nor those advising him, yet realize that fact. He has zero chance of being elected President in 2024 (of course, they could “install” him, but it wouldn’t be done due to the will of the voters).

good point.

the resident can declare that all the states that refuse drop boxes are in violation of the voting act and will send in UN peacekeepers to ensure the dems win the election.

If Biden or his handlers try Federal or international intervention in state elections, that is a Fort Sumter moment. Pierre Beauregard, where are you when we may need you?

“the resident can declare that all the states that refuse drop boxes are in violation of the voting act and will send in UN peacekeepers to ensure the dems win the election.”

And just in time, the 2nd Marine Division drives up I-95 to wipe out the UN peacekeepers. Democrats and FR’s doom and gloom trolls deeply saddened.

I can see Pence standing in front of the mirror, testing out his lines: "Please clap. Clap, please. Which one sounds better?".

Right. When he uses terms like “election denialism”, and claims that “far-right” candidates are trying to make contraception illegal… there’s just no point in reading this garbage.

I don’t understand why some FReepers insist on publishing the Left’s propaganda, no matter how obvious it is.

They always say “it is best to be aware of what the enemy is thinking” - as if they are gathering actionable enemy intel. LOL.

It is true that the vote counter has an edge over the voter, but we HAVE to hope and pray that the Republicans have hired a lot of BIG, smart and tough Republican lawyers and vote count overseers to reduce the CHEATING to a minimum!

WE KNOW THEY ARE GOING TO CHEAT!

THE IDEA IS TO KEEP IT TO A MINIMUM!

Republicans were flummoxed in 2020 - they did not believe the Democrats could put together a large enough CHEAT to make a difference.

That they successfully DID CHEAT in 2020 was, hopefully a HUGE WAKE UP CALL, and that steps have been taken to prevent the CHEAT in 2022

Well, you KNOW they are going to CHEAT!

Question is, can the Republicans muster the intestinal fortitude to keep the DEMOCRAT CHEATING in check?

No.
Because they hate Trump, and us - every bit as much as the Left does.
