“...but the trains DID run on time.”

Do you know if anyone on them was alive?

My trip to Kurdistan with the Gold Star parents in 2006 was like a field trip. Erbil was very peaceful back then. Heavily armed and protected but peaceful.

Ah, yes. Erbil was nice. I went there on a brief business trip, also in 2006, to meet with subcontractors we were working with to build an IPLO compound there.

I was very surprised that we could just walk in the town to restaurants with no protective gear on. We sure weren’t doing anything like that in Baghdad.

It was almost like a vacation.

Thank you George W Bush, Colin Powell and Dick Cheney! This is what your Iraq war based on false intelligence resulted in. This is how trusting in the US government will end!

Exactly right. Attacking Iraq with shock and awe will go down in history as the begining of chaos and instability in the middle-east and energy markets, rise of Al-Qaeda, ISIS, and all other catastrophe’s.

Thank you Dubya.

Protests and clashes broke out across the Iraqi capital Baghdad on Monday evening, carrying into Tuesday morning, and leaving at least 30 dead, after influential Shia leader Muqtada al-Sadr announced his withdrawal from Iraqi politics.

The fighting, however, ended as quickly as it started after al-Sadr ordered his followers to withdraw from the Green Zone on Tuesday, saying that their actions were not “revolutionary” and that “the spilling of Iraqi blood is forbidden”.

Yes, Saddam was horrible. I heard personal accounts from people that chilled me to the bone

The planet is full of horrible peoples, horrible leaders, savage, disgusting customs, and many more evils.

But we are not the government of the world. The testimony of aliens about their problems has gotten us into untold misery, for many years, and, in the case of Ukraine, may yet get our beautiful land ruined and a lot of us killed.

Iraq never attacked the United States, unlike its closest neighbors Iran and Saudi Arabia.

If we had backed Saddam in his war with Iran, if we had gotten out of his way in 1991 and encouraged him to go to Riyadh and root out the Wahabi evil, the world would be a much more stable and less dangerous place.

Uday Hussein would be in charge of the Arab Caliphate in the Middle East today. And they would have huge control of the oil market. Nah.

Mohammed bin Salman is pro-American. He is pro-Israeli. Several countries in the Middle East have signed peace deals with Israel. All of that may not have happened if Husseins were still in charge because they were anti-Israel.

Look, I could try to explain the different mindsets most of us had twenty years ago, or the agreement the Reagan Administration made with Kuwait in the 80s among other things, but there are enough angry pusillanimous pismires on FR going around looking for contention without dredging up arguments that are two and three decades old.

So, it’s a pass from me. 😏

“US under buyden?”

Why just Biden? And why should the US be exempt? Everything has a purpose depending on what you wish to achieve. And those that can...will.

And as long as the masses who are the victims of it are complacent, and in many ways helping it, it is now as it was in the time when man first learned how to breath.

I equate it to a couple of statements made by Henry Ford.

“If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got.”

“Thinking is the hardest work there is, which is probably the reason so few engage in it.”

And that’s why man fails to reach Nirvana, which is a place of perfect peace and happiness. And as long as there is evil promoting stupidity as protection of its evil, it will continue.
