Iraq under Saddam Hussein saw severe violations of human rights, which were considered to be among the worst in the world. Secret police, state terrorism, torture, mass murder, genocide, ethnic cleansing, rape, deportations, extrajudicial killings, forced disappearances, assassinations, chemical warfare, and the destruction of the Mesopotamian marshes were some of the methods Saddam and the country’s Ba’athist government used to maintain control.
And besides firing missiles into Israel and attacking his neighbors like Kuwait, he was collaborating with the biggest terrorist of the time in Osama ben Laden giving him safe haven and medical assistance for his kidneys in Baghdad.
And this is the guy that was also attempting to start a nuclear program to go with his chemical stockpile. Not better off.

Some of us predicted this way back when Daddy Bush sent troops to oust Saddam. Btw, the Saudis shipped in huge freighters of soil to cover areas where our bases were built so that infidel boots wouldn’t taint sacred Saudi soil. These are our friends, y’know.

Sadam Hussein was objectively one of the worst people on the planet and most certainly should have been held to account by the people of Iraq. That is the easy question to answer.
Just about everything else surrounding the US involvement in Iraq after we invaded is harder to answer objectively. From Debaathification, to seizing the presidential palace grounds and declaring it the US embassy (the largest embassy in the world), to letting Mookie Sadr live in 2006, to tolerating the Iranian influence and brutality against Sunni that al-Maliki brought, to bugging out when and how we did. All of it and so much more is questionable, but I think it's a given that once we went in (also itself a questionable act), Saddam had to get it in the end.
Saddam was par for the course in the Middle East.
Lemme guess, Biden and his merry men are learning about this on CNN today, right?
It doesn’t matter if we were ever there or not. Once more muzzies get nukes the end will be here.

Maybe Iran can roll in and establish order? With Russian help they can bring peace to Iraq at last. Maybe Kurds can at last have their Kurdistan Dream? It would stick a thumb into Turkey’s eye! Maybe that’s what should have happened all along? US need to send all the weapons and extra men to Ukraine to fight our biggest enemy Russia. This might be a “second Front” to rip the Middle east from Trump’s Peace plan and take out Saudi Arabia?
