We probably need to reduce governmental power, most especially federal financial power.

I would truly like to see an effort by serious thinkers toward designing The Second Republic of the United States. A Constitution with clear language and strong safeguards. You will always be able to have a gun. It will be almost impossible for others to control you. Your freedom and your independence will be truly guaranteed. Your income cannot be taxed. Your property cannot be taxed. The government cannot educate people. The government cannot help poor people. The government cannot go into debt. Politicians cannot be allowed to break the law.
The Founders gave us something very good. But it wasn't good enough. We need to do better next time.
I've said before that, during the next 100 years, Democrats/RINOs in red states may consider moving to blue states, while Republicans, libertarians, and conservatives in blue states may consider moving to red states. It's already starting to happen. After a century of such migration, it would be time to maybe reassess to determine whether it's necessary to then split into however many separate countries.
At present, most of us live on the same street with some neighbors who have polar-opposite views on almost everything. They may even be your cheerful next-door neighbors who you get along with (because maybe you've never discussed politics with each other). Given that far-left and right-wing folks are often next-door neighbors throughout the nation, a second civil war would absolutely destroy our country. So long-term migration may be the better answer.
Again, after 100 years of migration, the situation could be reassessed. Maybe all the blue states are eventually comprised of almost all far-lefties (with some passive righties) and red states being practically all Republicans and conservatives (with some passive lefties) which may solve the problem, without any need to split up the nation into separate countries. Although, a major problem might still exist at the federal government level and it could be addressed then. Just a thought. I'm open-minded (unlike the close-minded Democrats/RINOs), so always looking for better answers.

Culture is what I’ve been screaming we have to settle. A start would be to make large states smaller. The smaller the grouping the better people get along. State laws seem to work pretty good until that state gets too big for it’s britches. Cites spring up and become to large to manage by any means. Cultures will mold together in smaller groups, and generally do it with laws and an occasional feud. At this point in time we have enough land to divide large cities. (If we can handle 3-4 million South American/Mexicans we can split cities. (There tell me why my idea won’t work. It just an idea).
Compromising with bad policy is like adding a little sewage to your drinking water.
