11 Republicans who bucked Trump on impeachment are retiring or lost primary bids

With Nebraska Republican Sen. Ben Sasse's retirement, 11 of the 17 Republicans who voted to impeach or convict former President Donald Trump in 2021 have now opted not to seek re-election or have lost their primary races this year.

Sasse announced Thursday he is stepping down to lead the University of Florida. The Nebraska Republican came to the Senate after a stint as the president of Midland University, and his public statements about his decision to join Florida do not mention Trump at all. He went as far as to tell National Review “the impeachment vote has exactly zero to do with this.”

But his decision does mean that three of the seven Republican senators who voted to convict Trump will retire this cycle — Sasse, North Carolina Sen. Richard Burr and Pennsylvania Sen. Pat Toomey. Alaska Sen. Lisa Murkowski faces a competitive re-election fight from a Trump-backed opponent, while the remaining three aren't on the ballot this cycle.

And that comes after a primary cycle where out of the 10 House Republicans who voted to impeach Trump, four decided to retire and four lost primaries to candidates who used their vote as a wedge issue.

Sasse retired due to ill health. The voters got sick of him.

Now we need to find ways to make those same people suffer personal consequences.

These Republicans are a bunch of losers. They should never have used RNC money to get elected and if they did should pay it back. They committed FRAUD..........

Well, when you have RINOs like McConnellIdiot dishing the money out (and pulling the money from others that are not RINOs), kind of explains things.

If the charges against President Trump were real, then they did the right thing in supporting impeachment. But the charges were not real, and everyone from the DOJ, FBI, to every member of the Democrat Party knew they were fake.

So they not only did they sell out the President, they sold out the citizens of this nation. They all should be ashamed of themselves but as we know RINOs know no shame.

Yep. We’re hunting down RINOs and mounting their heads on the wall.

Take a wild guess what we’re going to do in 2024. RINO season will be open again.

Of the remaining traitors Murkowski is the worst.

In the two house races with traitors, it is the one time we should vote Democrat if you live in either of those districts. Even though they would be worse in most ways it would be so awesome if we sent such a decisive message that would severely deter treachery for decades.

I wish we had better State GOP leadership, even though I personally like Caleb Heimlich a Hillsdale College graduate, his leadership or lack there of is the reason Dan Newhouse slithered through the primary and will probably win in November.

Just keep in mind who is running the RNC. Pierre Defecto’s niece, Ronna McDaniel.

What happened to that $208 Million (+/-) that was raised under the guise of “STOP THE STEAL”?

If his vote had zero to do with his retirement, then he wouldn’t have brought it up. We don’t talk about unimportant things; they are invisible. By bringing it up, it means his impeachment vote had some sway in his decision, not zero.
