Better it be Hunter Biden's Dad?

Do we have a kid in the White House?

True

I do NOT think young people should be imbibing it regularly or at all either but the risk compared to alcohol is low

Its also quite clear that regular and constant usage can cause problems or be de-motivating for SOME people, I know lots of conservatives in high paces/stressful careers who you would never suspect that use it as a sleep aid and get their minds off work

Because that is what globalists told you? Marijuana is a gateway drug to voting socialist.

Exactly, while I don’t think people should go to jail for pot, I shouldn’t have to support them with my tax dollars if they are chronically unemployable because of it.

And I, as an employer, should have the right not to hire people who do use. If you’re an employer who is ok with hiring potheads, be my guest, but don’t be surprised if your business liability insurance premiums go up because of it.

That used to be true. But with the increased potency of marijuana and THC laced snacks, we are seeing that it causes schizophrenia and psychosis.

Marijuana is not a drug, it’s a religion. I’m like other drugs, insulting pot is like it insulting Allah.

You should have a right not to hire pot smokers, cigarette smokers, and even drinkers.

Yawn - it’s like booze, cigarettes and anti-psychotic prescription drugs- can be abused but not my problem.

“The collapse of our financial system and a global nuclear war strike me as more important than some kids smoking weed.
Color me crazy.”

Which is why you’ll see more stupid studies & hysteria about marijuana in the future.

The American Establishment gives people scapegoats to take their economic frustration out on.

In the case of this thread:

“Its the potheads fault my life sucks.”

I agree it’s relatively benign. The problem is it’s going to be everywhere and all the time, especially since the social stigma is being torn down along with the technical legal barriers. It’s the cultural rot aspect that concerns me more than the potential for psychotic episodes and that kind of thing.

As a kid growing up in the late 60s and 1970s, I watched the adults pretty closely. Alcohol AND tobacco with lunch, then back to work. Smoke some more. Come home to a martini. Have another before dinner. Go out to eat.

But what did those "adults" do in their high school and college years? Most likely they studied hard and applied themselves so they could get those jobs, then that's when the alcoholism started. But at least they started with some ambition. The kids today don't have that kind of ambition to start with.

I work with and organize some sports leagues with a lot of 20-something men. These guys don’t even bother to smoke weed any more, they take it in the form of gummy bears. Super-potent stuff, apparantly.

America is declining. There is no doubt about it.

Smoking marihuana is becoming more acceptable than cigarettes!?

Yes. Even the Feds are working on banning cigarettes. They have already banned some flavored ecigs and are working on banning menthol cigarettes (more difficult because of use by peoples of color), but at the same time easing up on laws prohibiting marijuana usage.

I have never had a problem with people smoking dope. I have traditionally done hallucinogen induced “vision quests” in the desert on average every other year. However, I find most pot smokers do it daily, not as an occasional head clearing treat of spiritual exploration, but rather as a crutch to have their wits permanently dulled. I wonder how much of their potential is wasted over the years, especially ones that started this habit in their teens. More often than not, they were smart kids doing well in school, and ended up not doing much of anything in their adult lives. There are exceptions, of course, having been a traveling engineer for 30 years, I know many exceptional engineers who are also potheads in their spare time. I suppose alcohol ruins kraptons of lives too.

Just as cannabis is a gateway drug, legalizing cannabis is gateway legislation to legalizing all recreational drugs.

It has always been my contention that marijuana was a gateway drug only because of the criminal element you had to deal with to purchase it would offer you other drugs.

Legalizing medical and recreational pot dispensaries means that pot users don't have to find the corner dealer anymore, and aren't exposed to crack, meth, or fentanyl.

That's not to say that I believe that marijuana use is harmless. I think that the "stoner" stereotype is that way because there is some truth behind the stereotype.

Pick your battles carefully.
While you’re busy “picking your battles,” the left is rolling over you. “

Yikes.
That is so true.
