Hollywood celebrities including Leonardo DiCaprio and his Shutter Island co-star Mark Ruffalo celebrated the narrow presidential victory of Brazil’s socialist candidate Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva over incumbent conservative populist Jair Bolsonaro on Sunday.
Celebrities called it a win for the environment while also expressing hope that the same thing will happen in the United States.
“The outcome of the Brazilian election presents an opportunity to change the course of history, not just for Brazil & the Amazon, but for the world,” DiCaprio tweeted.

As usual these idiots only looked on the surface. Last month a national legislative election was held and the results saw a coalition of conservative and right wing parties win the majority of the seats. Lula will be checked and be unable to get anything passed without legislative approval.
Honestly. Are there to dumber people in Hollywood than Ruffalo and DiCaprio?
My favorite scene in “Collateral” involves Ruffalo. “Heart” warming is all I’ll say.
The only upside of a communist takeover would be to see these guys putting on the plain grey clothing they were issued and leaving their assigned one-bedroom apartment six days a week to go to their assigned factory jobs where they stamp out widgets for the army in a windowless concrete factory of the communist utopia they long for.
Wait til Lula’s Chinese Communist paymasters start strip-mining the Amazon for the raw materials to make their electric car batteries, using indigenous children as forced labor.
Yeah. Per capita income in the US is about $62,000 a year. If these guys want to play “Hollywood star” I suppose that’s their business. But they’re going to live in some crappy apartment, with (perhaps) a crappy car, living off $62,000 a year. Redistribution of wealth is double-plus good.
Ruffalo and DeCaprio can fly to Brazil RIGHT NOW and live in the glory of the socialist paradise they praise. Lula is a straight-up communist.
Brazil becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of the CCP, and the largest incursion of China into the South American continent.
Several other countries are probably in line to fall into this alignment. The Monroe Doctrine is now a dead letter.

Actually, the battle against the socialists in Brazil is not over. The divide between Lula and Bolsonaro was less than 1%. Brazil is as strongly divided as the U.S. and its conservatives are not going to become sheep to the Left.
