The mother of the Capitol Police officer who died the day after the January 6 riot is featured in a political ad where she blames “people like” Arizona’s Republican gubernatorial nominee Kari Lake for her son’s death, but in response, Lake offered her empathy.
In the ad, funded by the Republican Accountability Project, Gladys Sicknick calls Lake “very dangerous for our country” and directly blamed “people like” Lake for her son Brian’s death. Sicknick died a day after the riot, and his death was ultimately determined to be from natural causes as he suffered a series of strokes.
A CBS reporter just asked me about the latest desperate attack ad accusing ME of causing the death of a Capitol Police Officer.
As a mother, here was my response: pic.twitter.com/dol7OEFQaw

“GHOULISH.
Using a DEAD loved one for politics.”
Just like Biden.
She is misinformed and misdirected.
She locked it up when she said, “These people know me. I’ve been in their homes for the past 27 years.”
Haven’t seen anyone handle the press like this since Reagan.
Mom sounds a little weird. Like somebody else said, what the hell does Kari Lake have to do with this? I’ll bet mom doesn’t have a clue who Lake is. It sounds like SeeBS sent one of their jugheads over to see mom with a DNC hate memo for mom to read. Lighten up Mom. Kari Lake didn’t kill your son.
bkmk... BTTT!!
Lake has too much class to disparage the mother but I dont. Mom is an obvious lefty drone who raised a henchman for the Empire. She obviously doesn’t mind being a drone tool as well.
Imagine some loon from the left calling up the mother of the deceased officer and telling her they would fund an attack ad against a Republican. How low can they go.
And Breitbart's a bad thing? How so?
when you have to click the red or orange box “Next” 5... 10... 20 times to read an article, the site loses my interest. they started doing it a couple years ago. I havent been back. dont know if they still have that, nor do I care! just sayin...
Perfect response indeed.
After expressing the grief that any mother would have, and without disparaging the mother, Lake strafed the fake media coverage of her campaign and promised to stop the fentanyl poisoning of Arizonans.
Mom was probably paid well for starring in the attack ad.
I don't think those are the Breitbart articles -- those are true clickbait and they are ads on the site to provide revenue. Just ignore them.
Breitbart has a lot of ads, but you can tell which are Breitbart articles because they have the author's name in blue, and a little black balloon with white numbers in it (the number of comments to the article) down at the bottom. I've circled them in red below:
