President Joe Biden on Monday acknowledged that his promise to legalize abortion nationwide would not come to fruition in the next Congress.

“I don’t think there’s enough votes to codify,” Biden said at a press conference in Bali, Indonesia after a reporter asked him about the future of his promises on abortion.

The president made the issue of legalizing abortion nationwide a critical part of his midterm campaign message.

Oh no! I guess they’ll just have to put unlimited abortion bills in states that currently don’t have it and gin up DEM voter turnout in 2024.

Or the Constitutional authority to mandate something that SCOTUS said should be a states issue.

If I read SCOTUS right, Congress needs a constitutional amendment. They can not address this with a simple law.

No student loan default.

No Roe v. Wade II.

No free money anymore.

$5 milk & Gas.

He has no reason to change anything. He got your vote and stole the ones he needed to "fortify" his midterms.

USSC decision on Roe was about State powers to regulate, not abortion

Right but it overturned the previous SCOTUS decision declaring abortion a right.

And it said something to the fact that the power was returned to the states.

FedGov can try to pass a law, but I think states will challenge the Fed’s power to regulate abortion at the federal level.

They know this! It’s just like the student loan forgiveness. It was a tool to get out the vote. Now that they’ve DONE that, this is no longer important. Sure, they might now have a vote (which will fail), at which point they can throw up their hands and say “See! We tried!”, and then pin the failure on R’s, or Joe Manchin, or whomever else the scapegoat du jour is, and move on to the topics that they REALLY care about. (Like laundering more money through Ukraine).

did Pedo Joe finally figure out he lost?

He's not even able to figure out when he's lost his bowel contents. I imagine the White House staff keeps ample supplies of poop pads for when he sits down.

It would not matter if they did. The 10th Amendment would shoot it down and he knows it. This is just garble from Joe Biden!

I do not believe the original SCOTUS ruling was about abortion per se, but about individual privacy in medical decisionmaking

Of course after covid vaxx mandates…that’s a joke

“Likely”? They haven’t given up on stealing the House yet?

As I say, grow your own food, find ways to heat your own home. Stock pile canned goods, ammunition and keep some livestock. Keep your guns well oiled. Get to know whom you can trust, and don’t communicate with them via phone or internet. Carrier pigeons, hand-delivered notes, whatever, all in code.
