Turnout Was Strong in Georgia, but Mail Voting Plummets After New Law

While voter turnout remained strong, absentee voting in Georgia dropped off drastically in this year’s midterm election, the first major test of an expansive 2021 voting law that added restrictions for casting ballots by mail.

Data released by the Georgia secretary of state showed that mail voting in the state’s November general election plunged by 81% from the level of the 2020 contest.

[The 2021 law]..significantly limited drop boxes, added voter identification requirements and prevented election officials from proactively mailing out absentee ballot applications.

Drop box hours and locations cut way back, no more drop boxes on street corners. Ballot harvesting is no longer practical, Dems have been forced back to in-person voting.

Dems and libs, including Big Mama Abrams, tried to challenge the new laws in court, and lost bigly.

Awesome new 2021 law!! It’s a good first start to getting back to honest elections. Let’s hope they pass a new 2023 law will put even more teeth in election integrity.

The fact that “drop boxes” are even allowed is mind blowing

You mean dead people can’t vote anymore - that’s a big lose for Democrats.

Absentee voting did be restricted to those who are unavoidably absent from their precinct on election day/week/month/whatever or the infirm.

Those too lazy to get to their polling station with about a month to do so shouldn’t be voting, anyway.

I vote absentee as I am an Arkansas resident, but have been stationed in other states throughout my career. One I retire from service, I’ll vote in person because it’s worth making time to do.

I did the same. I always voted absentee in Pennsylvania while in the military for 24 years then Retired and ended up in Florida and now go in person. Every time, I love voting in person when I was absentee vote voting, it never seemed the same.

Mail voting is by default a form of election fraud.

Those who voted for Walker by mail, had their votes forwarded to his home in Texas.

I would establish two days for voting. Saturday, then the Tuesday that comes right after it. Make both days a national holiday. No drop boxes, no mail-in voting. Absentee ballots only for the sickly and the elderly, or if you can prove you must be out of town. Signature verified, of course!

No vote harvesting. Not even for family members. Some states allow you to hand in votes, but only for family. IOW-—— Show up to vote in person or go take a hike!

“Would this be good news for Herschel Walker then?”

Walker still has problems due to personal baggage and the multi-million dollar ad campaign Warnock is running. Dems have gone back to turning out the in-person vote, and they’re very effective in metro areas. Seems that the black vote outside urban areas may be down from the general election (fingers crossed).

41% of the population in GA is black or Hispanic from the last numbers I saw. Walker has split off a good bit of the Hispanic vote, but Dems still have a huge base of voters. Corruption is one reason Dems win, but in GA it doesn’t take many white suburban voters to tip the scales to Dems.
