TUCKER: Greg Abbott Lied About Securing The Border, Busing Migrants To Other States Fixes Nothing

“We don’t have a border and Greg Abbott could stop it, and he isn’t … He was willing to lie and apparently he did.”

Tucker Carlson called out Texas governor Greg Abbott for reneging on certain promises he made to secure the border during the general election against Beto O’Rourke.

“El Paso wasn’t like this just a few years ago. Ask anyone who went there,” Carlson noted during Monday’s edition of his TV show. “The question is, why isn’t the state of Texas stopping this? Where’s the Texas National Guard?”

“A few months ago, Greg Abbott, the governor, was running for office,” Carlson noted. “He was running against Beto O’Rourke, and he was willing to say anything to get re-elected. He was willing to lie and apparently he did.”

Tucker: This is an invasion of our country

Carlson reminded viewers, “He said he’d deploy 10,000 troops to the border. Oh, but he hasn’t. He just revised it to 5,000 troops. And then he came up with another solution: just bus thousands of migrants to other states, which is kind of funny. It makes for an amusing cable news segment. But it’s still our country, isn’t it? And none of these people are ever leaving.”

“This is an invasion of our country,” Carlson said. “We don’t have a border and Greg Abbott could stop it, and he isn’t. Why isn’t the Texas National Guard stopping this? We can’t answer that question.”

“We’d love to have Greg Abbott come on and tell us,” the Fox News host added.

“But because Texas isn’t securing the border, the rest of the country is also overrun with people from foreign countries who have no right to be here and whose identity we don’t know,’ Carlson continued. “At exactly the moment, we do not need a larger population as our economy moves south.”

Typical politician. Talk a good game to get elected, then do what the big donors want done.

Must be a member in good standing of the Lindsey Graham political school.

And what Kari Lake proposed, declaring an invasion and securing Arizona Constitutional State's Rights to deal directly with the issue was correct.

What DeSantis and Abbott did was nothing more than political grand-standing.

Abbot’s full of cheet...

We don’t need more illegals shipped deeper into the interior of the country where they scatter to all points.

100% political grandstanding...

It seems like nobody wants to be on Tucker’s show lately. There were several “we asked X to be on the show, but X declined. As always X is welcome….” just last night. Democrats avoid conservative media. What does that make Abbott?

So what would Tucker have Abbott do that he’s not already doing?

The sad fact is you need the Feds to stop illegal immigration. There probably is nothing DeSantis or Abbot can do about without the Feds. I place the blame with the WH. Tucker is just throwing red meat to his audience

He should have had the national guard at the border on day one of the biden coup and he didn’t, he is another puke trying to look good by busing a few illegals to blue states. He is part of the problem. Americans sit by everyday and watch the GOP and the rats sell us out, murder our families with drugs and crime and overrun us with the invaders while the kill us with man made viruses and shut down oil for heating and the economy and launder our tax dollars in the Ukraine

The fact is, no matter which solution is pursued, no state has the ability to deport anyone once they set foot on US soil. Best we can hope to do is deter them from trying to come over, and failing that, arrest them, but after you arrest them they will be turned over to the feds who will just release them.

Unless it involves the use of deadly force, the invasion of the United States at its southern border will not decrease.

I’m not a big fan of Tucker Carlson. But he is right here. It’s also worth noting that taxes has a State Guard, which is separate from the National Guard and is totally under the control of the governor,

It is a really mystery why Abbott isn’t doing more. I’d sure like to hear his side of the story.

“I place the blame with the WH.”

Congress shares equal blame. They’ll be hawks on immigration only when they know there is a President in the WH who won’t enforce anything, and then when there is a President in WH who would enforce, they will stall and never pass anything.

o what would Tucker have Abbott do that he’s not already doing?

Build a wall, put the National guard on the border, like Abbott said he would.

So what would Tucker have Abbott do that he’s not already doing?

How about taking Kari Lake's approach:

“And so we’re going to invoke our Article 1, Section 10, basically, authority to take care of our own border and protect our own border. It’s right there in black and white in the Constitution. And we meet all three criteria. We have an invasion, our people are in imminent danger, and time is of the essence,” she said. “There’s no time for delay.”

Article 1, Section 10 of the Constitution places limits on the authority of the individual states, reserving certain privileges for the federal government. For example, states cannot enter treaties with foreign nations or print their own money.

The third sentence of the section reads, “No State shall, without the Consent of Congress, lay any Duty of Tonnage, keep Troops, or Ships of War in time of Peace, enter into any Agreement or Compact with another State, or with a foreign Power, or engage in War, unless actually invaded, or in such imminent Danger as will not admit of delay.”

What’s DeSantis to do? Florida is not a border state. Arizona and Texas are.

How about the Texas National Guard on the border stopping the mass crossings? Yeh.

I think I read a couple of days ago Abbott was re-building the wall AND sending in the National Guard

It might also be worth noting that there are only a little over 1600 members of the Texas State Guard.
