Florida Ranked As Fastest-Growing State in America
Tampa Free Press ^ | 12/22/2022 | Liz Shultz

Florida was the fastest-growing state from July 1, 2021, to July 1, 2022, with its population increasing by 1.9 percent, according to a report issued Thursday by the U.S. Census Bureau.

Florida had an estimated 22,244,823 residents as of July 1, up from 21,828,069 a year earlier. “While Florida has often been among the largest-gaining states, this was the first time since 1957 that Florida has been the state with the largest percent increase in population,” Kristie Wilder, a demographer in the population division of the Census Bureau, said in a prepared statement.

While topping states in percentage increases, Florida also had the second-largest increase in raw numbers of residents. Its 416,754 increase trailed only Texas’ 470,708 increase.

Florida continued to have the third-largest population in the country, behind California and Texas. Texas’ population grew by 1.6 percent, to 30,029,572, during the one-year period, while California’s population declined by 0.3 percent to 39,029,342.

Other states with the largest percentage increases during the year were Idaho at 1.8 percent; South Carolina at 1.7 percent; and South Dakota and Montana, at 1.5 percent.

States with the largest percentage decreases were New York at 0.9 percent; Illinois and Louisiana at 0.8 percent; West Virginia at 0.6 percent; and Hawaii at 0.5 percent.

I’d move there but I’m froze in. It’s -3 here and I had to pawn my dog sled team.

The largest air cargo shipment totals OUT of FL?— why coffins for dead FL retirees shipped back to the crapholes they left. There IS a lesson there for the crapholes— who remain blue state horrors of confiscatory, liberal nightmares.

Saw a brilliant sign, recently driving N. to Gator Country- alongside US 441 North in Tavares, FL. Read to the effect:
“We welcome you to Tavares and N. Central FL— we urge you to VOTE RIGHT— and not the idiotic Liberal Northern politics you escaped to come here!! Vote Conservative, NOT Liberal Democrats— please. Or, go back where you came from!”

Stunning, direct and correct. Don’t fly to FL to re install the crap you left... from where you left it! Hopefully they will get the message— don’t bring your poop with you if you’re going to live here. IOW keep going South down to Broward County or Lauderdale if you want to do that.

I’ve lived in Florida most of my life………it’s ‘home’
The perpetual sun is uplifting ( very few dreary days here)…and the foliage always green ….
I’ve lived through my share of hurricanes……it’s doable

Our area is seeing a tremendous growth in new arrivals of folks and building to accommodate them.

I give DeSantis credit for running it well…….but I want him to stay as Governor

We’re getting down to 31 degrees in Florida this weekend. Brrrrrrr. Lowest since 1983 apparently.

I am glad to have moved to Florida in 2016.
Only complain I have is my A/C bill. Everything else is great here.

I’ll have to drive by the sign. I’m about 15 minutes from that sign. Thanks for letting us know. I love Florida and the truth they present.

I complain more about the water bill. In the summer having to use the sprinkler system twice a week is costly. Worth living here though.

Great sign (but don’t be sending NY libs down here to SoFL). That message should also be loud and clear for immigrants too.

Florida is turning into California….to many people…needs an immigration system…

Some one must move out or die …then someone can move in…

RE; I’ve lived through my share of hurricanes……it’s doable

As a native Floridian, do you know a nice city in your state that doesn’t encounter hurricanes? Or is the entire state prone to it and hurricanes are unavoidable? Thanks.

I’d move there, but there’s one big problem.

Florida still has RCV-enabled voting machines, early voting, mail-in voting, and a form of ballot harvesting.

As long as that is still the case, FL is one stolen election away from a Gov. Gillum.

And the current gov has done nothing to change any of that.

So spend money on a move, a nice house to wind up with just more to lose when Deep State takes FL...?

Nope.

We’ve got far less to lose right where we are in NYS.

Until the republic is restored, we’ll just stay put.

Certain areas are more prone than others……..but all are vulnerable to some degree
We are 20 minutes from the beach ( as a crow flies)
If we had a direct hit, Cocoa Beach and the smaller islands would evacuate, plus swatches of mainland.

We have evacuated only twice….in 2004 when we had 4 hurricanes…
Even the two of them that traveled from the west coast through the middle of the state to the east coast packed a punch.
Our county had an abundant of blue tarp houses afterwards.

But the past several years we have had minimal to none….
And then we had the one this year that took out portions of Fort Myers Beach

I guess it’s a game of odds
…. All in all it’s a wonderful, sunny, tropical and lovely place to live.
