Moscow Demands Ukraine Surrender or Face Battlefield ‘Elimination’
Breitbart ^ | 12/27/2022 | Simon Kent

Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov accused Ukraine and its western allies of trying to destroy his country late Monday night, demanding Kyiv accept Moscow’s prescription for ending the war or be “eliminated” on the battlefield.

Reuters reports Lavrov’s comments came against a backdrop of continued heavy fighting in eastern Ukraine and followed Russian President Vladimir Putin hinting he was open to negotiations, but only on Moscow’s terms.

Putin said on Sunday the Kremlin was “ready to negotiate with everyone involved about acceptable solutions” while blaming Kyiv for the lack of diplomatic progress so far.

The Russians are very capable of backing up that threat. They have developed a range of very low yield battlefield tactical nukes and a doctrine on how to use them to win wars while keeping under the threshold for a strategic nuclear response.

Not at all. The Russians are nowhere near the capability to push their will like they claim. Anyone believing otherwise is allowing themselves to be swayed by Russian propaganda. This noise coming for Lavrov is for Russian internal consumption.

“Moscow Demands Ukraine Surrender or Face Battlefield ‘Elimination’”

Pretty much the only response possible given that Merkel said that the West simply lies to Russia and that any ‘agreement’ isn’t worth the paper it is written on.

The question that I have is why did the Neocons drag-out Merkel to make her statement? About the only thing that I can think of was the situation just before her statement was talk about Germany working towards a settlement, and that the Neocons wanted none of that, so they had Merkel scuttle it (and before that, when Germany was also making noises about ending the war, the West took out the pipeline).

If the Russians were to deploy a tactical nuclear weapon with a yield slightly less than that of a fart after a dinner of Boston Baked Beans, NATO / the U.S. would respond swiftly, and with decisive effect.

Within years, NATO would be welcoming segments of formerly Russian territory into its arms.

If Zelensky tried to “surrender” then he would be booted out by the Ukrainian people.

I live near the border and have helped Ukrainian refugees. They do not want to stop fighting as long as Putin holds Ukrainian territory.

Why?

Because they thought he would be happy after 2014 and him grabbing Crimea and a chunk of Donbas.

But he attacked Kyiv, killed thousands of Ukrainians and now they want
1. Revenge
2. To prevent him coming again in 8 years and unleashing more devastation.

They can’t use tactical nukes. It would be World War III if they did.
A “tactical nuke” is a misleading diminutive... In reality it has about the same explosive power as the Hiroshima nuclear bomb.
If one of these bombs are used, the fallout would also contaminate Russia itself and large parts of Europe. Thus triggering NATO response.

Their military stuff doesn’t work.

11 months has shown that the more complex the weapon, the less likely it us that it works

Some Freepers are ready to fight until the Russians have nobody left in the Ukraine to kill—armchair courage at its most disgusting.

"Triggering NATO response?" Ukraine is not a member of NATO. No NATO State with nuclear weapons would risk annihilation over the use of tactical nukes in Ukraine, unless the person in charge was absolutely demented... oh, wait...

Meanwhile, in the real world, Russia is the country that no other country trusts because they have broken every agreement they ever made, just about.

Wait. What?

I thought yesterday Putin was willing to have peace talks with “all parties involved”.

Russia needs to centralize their messages.
