Klobuchar is an idiot, and always has been.
She also has the distinction of being known as the least liked Senator in Washington, D.C. by staff and underlings. She is described as a harridan, a banshee, and as mean and deceitful as they come.
Pistols are not assault weapons. The function of a pistol is to fight your way to a long gun.
The long gun is not an assault weapon either. Its purpose is self-defense. If in the act of defending one’s self, the other guy shooting at you dies, well, that is what is meant by “street justice”.
She’s not very bright. How ‘bout we ban old Chinese “refugee” guys instead of semi-automatic rifles. It’s the people stupid, not the guns.
Go to hell. Shall not be infringed. FOAD.
imo
How the news media demonizes guns since the 1960s.
1962-1968 —The evil guns were the foreign made Saturday Night Special and the 5 shot bolt action army surplus rifle. they got a ban on them in 1968.
1968-1984 it was all other American made handguns.
1980-1984 it was “Plastic Framed “ handguns that “could pass through metal detectors!
1984-1990- it was “COP KILLER BULLETS”!
1990 -1994 it was “Revolving Shotguns!
1984 till now it suddenly became “high capacity assault rifles and magazines!
2000 it was 50 cal single shot rifles capable of downing an aircraft with ONE SHOT!
Now we are back to A-s-s-ault Rifles for all murders, even with handguns.
They simply want to ban SOMETHING! Then they will build on that ban to go after other firearms.
She did not mention that both shootings occurred in stringently gun-controlled California, which has had an “assault weapons” ban since the 1990s. Nor did she mention that both shootings were carried out with pistols.
The real answer is to ban virtually all firearms to the public and ensure that only well-trained government officers (like say the Memphis Police Scorpion Squad) have access to them. Then we’ll have the safety that the Constitution guarantees all of us.

To a person who sees a comb as a fork that just has more tines, a pistol is just an assault rifle that has a shorter barrel.
In the 1930s the news media was rather pro-gun. Here is an old cartoon by Orr in the Chicago Tribune newspaper from 1934 or so.
How ‘bout we ban left-wing retarded broads from Minnesota who mistreat their staff?
California’s “enlightened” gun laws define some Pistols as “assault Pistols”, as I recall those have a threaded barrel and/or a second hand grip and/or a magazine well that is not in the grip.
Another “gift” to the country from the Land of 10,000 Morons.
FReepmail me if you want to be added to or deleted from the list.
More 2nd Amendment related articles on FR's Bang List.
She knows she can count on the stupidity of her constituents.
Ban the dreaded assault revolvers first./lol
Gotta confess.
I once supported her
Boy, do I pick fine awful loser politicians sometimes!
She gets zero hrlp from us now. Zero.
Never let a crisis go to waste. The so-called “assault weapons” passes the “common use” test as there are millions of them and as Clarence Thomas said, the 2nd Amendment did not restrict firearms to those that existed in 1791.
From Bruen:
he test that the Court set forth in Heller and applies today requires courts to assess whether modern firearms regulations are consistent with the Second Amendment’s text and historical understanding. Of course, the regulatory challenges posed by firearms today are not always the same as those that preoccupied the Founders in 1791 or the Reconstruction generation in 1868. But the Constitution can, and must, apply to circumstances beyond those the Founders specifically anticipated, even though its meaning is fixed according to the understandings of those who ratified it. See, e.g., United States v. Jones, 565 U. S. 400, 404–405. Indeed, the Court recognized in Heller at least one way in which the Second Amendment’s historically fixed meaning applies to new circumstances: Its reference to “arms” does not apply “only [to] those arms in existence in the 18th century.”
