House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) on Monday demanded President Joe Biden fire the Capitol Building’s top manager after losing the speaker’s confidence following a 90-minute appearance before the House Administration Committee on Thursday.
“The Architect of the Capitol, Brett Blanton, no longer has my confidence to continue in his job,” McCarthy said. “He should resign or President Biden should remove him immediately.” Blanton, the man in charge of managing the nation’s Capitol Building, was asked to resign after facing serious allegation of missing U.S. taxpayer-funded resources.

Let me guess Demented Joe’s answer, but this sure makes for a good headline.
With all the evidence known and more yet to be known, you're on solid ground.
THIS is what we want, and want from you.
I thought that the Capitol Building and grounds were the exclusive responsibility of the Speaker. Separation of Powers, etc..........................
As long as the Big Guy is receiving his 10% from Blanton nothing will be done.
I hope he has a follow-up letter outlining the missing funds and/or his reason for demanding his termination.
And he made it clear he will release it if his first letter is not addressed...
AND then he releases it anyway.
well, Biden fires Architect of the Capitol after calls for his resignation
How come the President is in charge of the guy in charge of the legislative branch’s building?
Now we need to check his bank accounts for hush money.
Sorry. I asked the same question before seeing yours. Crazy. Right?
US Capitol is under the jurisdiction of Congress, period. Kevin McCarthy is being misleading, to say the least. It is possible he is that ignorant.
I watched his testimony, it was an embarrassing example of lying. Everybody could see him stuttering sweating coughing and even suggested that the committee needs to ask his wife and his daughter what happened with the government issued car and the equipment that was attached to it.
btw,
“President Donald Trump nominated Blanton on December 9, 2019, for a ten-year term as Architect of the Capitol.
You said what I thought.
Good thinking!
No; not ignorant, actually smart;
President Trump appointed Brett Blanton to a 10 year term and he has narrowly, so far, avoided indictment for misusing public funds; not a good look for Blanton or Trump but a good look for McCarthy.
That seemed to be the case when previous Speaker ran things.
And if he doesn’t, Mcarthy will send another memo.
No one is afraid of the GOP
exactly, that was my thought. Nancy ran the place like it was her kingdom.....
As per normal, Trump trusting the gop recommendations, Sen. McConnell again?
