Is Crime Going Down, Or Have Democrat-Run Cities Just Given Up On Reporting It?
The Federalist ^ | 2/16/23 | Chuck DeVore

Even while gangs increasingly mug, carjack, and gun people down on the streets of many major cities, fentanyl poisoning deaths take 100,000 American lives, and mass murder incidents happen with unsettling regularity, perceptions of crime are highly influenced by partisanship. Gallup finds that when a Democrat is president, Republicans see crime as more of a problem than do Democrats, with the reverse happening when a Republican is in the White House.

The way leftist cities reduce their crime stats is to either stop arresting the thugs for their crimes or reduce the charges from felonies to misdemeanors.

It would be easy to say eliminate all Whites, but they need them to help pay for everything else.

Media have stopped reporting crime stats because it makes Democrats look bad.

A few years back, I asked a retired LEO about this very subject. He told me that it's been going on for a long time in certain high crime cities and states. The municipalities have developed the techniques of under-reporting crime to a high art form and the feds (to whom reports are sent) are generally aware of the deceit.

Might the DOJ want to investigate?

Maybe congress should make it a major crime to knowingly under, or misreport crime stats on fed forms.

There is an undeniable trend that occurs when crime spikes.

People stop reporting it because nothing happens. In many places in America the cops won’t even respond for most things and you have to make a report over the phone or online.

What is the point unless you are making an insurance claim?

The latter. They do not report it, as it would alarm the other victims yet to be mugged and killed.

Crime always goes down in the winter, because street gangs don’t much like standing around in ice and snow.

They just change the laws to be less stringent, so that grand theft auto is now simply logged as “theft” - BAM! - felonies are going down!

What these idiots do not understand is that good-hearted people will only be victimized for so long, and then old-fashioned vigilante justice will be on the rise.

When THAT happens, you will see the strictest, harshest enforcement of the law...to subject EVERYONE to their control!! In other words, they WANT this crap to happen!

That would simply become another crime to under-report.

Daughter works in a store where shoplifting is simply allowed. One guy announced on walking in that he was going to take things. The store won’t allow the employees to do anything and the police don’t do anything unless it’s armed robbery or a very high dollar amount

They just lie. Decades ago Atlanta was caught lying about murder statistics. They never stopped. Neither have other Democrat city infestations.

Stores are damned if they do and damned if they don’t. If they stop the shoplifters the police come and write them a ticket and nothing happens.

If they stop the shoplifters and they fight (same problem the cops have) the thief or an employee gets hurt. If the employee gets hurt the business pays far more for that than the “merchandise” was worth. If the thief gets hurt they sue the store and it cost them far more than the “merchandise” was worth.

IF they successfully detain the thief for the cops nothing happens AND the way the court system is set up they will then have to pay for the employee (a witness to a crime against them) to be available to go to court as required and even if they “win” the court case no punishment occurs because of our liberal attitude towards “petty theft”.

There are two solutions as I see it for retail stores - raise prices to cover the ever-increasing losses (far beyond what they can write off with Uncle Sugar) OR close the store and focus on stores that show a profit with minimal loss.

We are beginning to see both happen.

The third option is that they have just stopped enforcing laws. Smash and grabs and store swoops are just business as usual now.

Neither, the rule of law is not being enforced. Nearly all felonies are being reduced misdemeanors, and felonies committed by minors are reported. In WA all drug possession is now legal and the state is voting on supplying the drugs, along with pipes and needles at mobile drug clinics, including fentanyl. They think it will reduce crime and save lives. Then, they are planning to add former felons and drug addicts to the list of Democrat Special interest groups for hiring.

Democrat mayors put pressure on police departments to lie so they can lie... The FBI is fully aware this is going on and has gone on for decades.

What’s happened recently is some members of the press - right wing members of the press has asking real questions rather than playing butt kissers of ‘the elites’.

The other way corrupt democrat mayors are making their cities look better is they declare some things NOT to be crimes. If you say ‘it’s not a crime to steal IF you steal less than a thousand dollars worth of ‘stuff’ - the crime rate for theft goes WAY DOWN INSTANTLY.

Pressure is also put on the court systems to ‘settle’ some serious crimes by calling them ‘minor crimes’. It fools the people who want to be fooled and gives a stamp of approval to democrat hellholes so they can attract businesses.

We're already seeing the second one in action. Close the stores in high risk, high crime areas, and leave the ones in low risk, low crime areas as essentially showrooms. Online shopping is making brick and mortar stores less relevant by the day anyway.

Some years ago, a guy tried coming into my car while at a stoplight. He left quickly when he saw my gun. I never reported it. What would be the point? He was gone, and it was a Democrat town, so the only person the police would be able to arrest was me.

They do not care.

They are self-destructive people who want to see the rest of us die first.

Plan accordingly.
