If former President Donald Trump is trying to make it look like he isn't bothered by Ron DeSantis, his Truth Social feed this weekend told a very different story.
Over the weekend, Trump's Truth Social profile was filled with post after post about DeSantis, the governor of Florida and Trump's main rival in the GOP.
On Saturday, Trump kicked off his DeSantis-posting spree of at least 10 posts, by Insider's count.
The first was to insult DeSantis by writing that he thought it was "totally inappropriate to use the word 'meatball' as a moniker for Ron" — in the process making sure thousands more people saw the nickname.
He then posted three separate messages lauding his own poll numbers and bragging about being ahead of DeSantis.
Trump did take a breath to post about Andrea Bocelli singing at Mar-a-Lago. But he went right back to DeSantis after that, branding him a "RINO in disguise."

Trump has his way of doing things...The fact that the dem party and deep state is still terrified of him makes him unbeatable..Ron is an annoying mosquito buzzing around....Trump is the 900 pound gorilla that destroys everything in his path...They hate Ron...THEY ARE TERRIFIED OF TRUMP....

All this does is create animosity within the Republican Party.
And DeSantis is not even a candidate for president. So why would Trump waste any time and effort criticizing someone who isn’t even a candidate?
If he becomes a candidate then things could be different. But for now he’s severely attacking someone who’s on his side, who’s on his team.
The more RDS (DeSantis needs a three-letter moniker) ignores Trump, the more shrill Trump becomes and the more he spoils for an argument.
At this early point in the 24 primary season, the (as yet undeclared) RDS owns the presidential and diplomatic and wise-minded high ground and clearly lives rent free in the head of DJT.
The primary debates will be the most anticipated in US history, one highly suspects.

I am a Trump supporter and I know he is the only national leader who can turn the good ship America around toward the light. However when he attacks people he loses some fence sitters and independents that had favored him. He gains nothing. As one who likes him as president as much as I do, it doesn’t sit well, at all! I want him to win and win big!

So far not that impressed with DeSantis on the stump. Not a natural in front of a regular crowd. Better when he can yell at reporters and be nasty. Excellent at that. But super stiff when the situation calls for him to be calm, cordial and humorous. His wit seems very lacking. Historically, presidential candidates like this have not done well. I think there is a GAPING hole in 2024 that could be filled by (other than Trump) a confident, jovial heavyweight from any field of business or life.
Particularly his chances at getting re-elected.
Trump is the "LEEROY JENKINS!!!" candidate, rushing into a fight without any planning or strategy and getting everyone including himself slaughtered.

He might be bothered by him because he would be bad for the country trump is working so hard to save and make great.

Wouldn’t it be fun if these two are the ones driving the feud? Think about it. DeSantis has a Young family and a wife who should not take a lot of stress. He stays out of the race. Trump wins the primary. Announces his running mate. DeSantis is in for 12, and his kids have a nice stable life. Well, one can dream....

If DeSantis isn’t a candidate he would come out and say it again to end such speculation, but hasn’t. Therefore it’s assumed he’s running but can’t announce it just yet until Florida election law is changed to permit it. So that traitorous weasel is a fair target for Trump to attack.

It used to be that the old adage about Rats was - “I am not a member of any organized political party! I’m democrat!”. I think Will Rogers said that. Rats don’t do that now. Why? They want power!!! Power!!! Power!!! They’ll worry about purity or being in the right faction later if at all.
The GOP\Conservatives would rather be “right” (or the member of the “correct” faction!) then win! Rats want to win! They do!
