Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., has narrowed down his options concerning his political future for the 2024 election cycle, announcing Wednesday his decision not to run for president.

"I'm not running for President of the United States," Manchin told MetroNews during a radio interview broadcast from the State Capitol in Charleston, West Virginia.

The two-term senator and former governor of the state wouldn't say, however, if he had decided to run for re-election to keep his seat in the U.S. Senate, as Republicans eye the seat as a top target to flip in the 2024 election cycle.

We need some to announce they are not running AND they are giving 100% support to Trump.

Who will be first?

Wait a minute. A tough fight to keep his seat even if he runs again at age-what is it-77?

Trump should bribe him with an ambassadorship in Italy for his support. After all he did break with his party on that one issue-forgot what it was. He quits the senate the seat is ours. He could end up in the minority anyway. The rats have plenty of seats to defend.

As much as I think Manchin is a fraud, running for president is probably the best way for him to exit his political career. He could make the case for moving the Democrat Party back to the center. He’d lose, but he’d make a statement that needs to be made. The Dem Party is insane right now and moving to more insane by the minute.

What? You mean he’s not going to jump parties like so many (numbskulls) around here, not long ago, hoped he would.

This is what Manchin is saying today.
Who can predict his mood a year from now?

Logical!
It’s what I know he would like to do.
Maybe it’s dawning on him that no matter how it’s sliced, if it’s going to be a new straight white guy, it will be Newsom. That makes it very unlikely the VP slot will go to another white guy, particularly an old one.
But a fellow can dream, can’t they?

Posted 3 hours ago. 10 responses. This seat is important. It’s no wonder we’re in the minority.
