Gingrich warns exactly how Joe Biden will kill Social Security
WND News Center ^ | March 16, 2023 | Bob Unruh

Cites estimates Democrats stripping $900 billion out of programs..

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich, who was key to the GOP takeover of the U.S. House in the 1990s and orchestrated his party's famously successful "Contract with America" for voters, says Joe Biden's new budget plan is a Social Security killer.

...

"anyone who wants to protect Social Security and Medicare should reject Joe Biden's newly released budget."

He said it's not complicated.

"Biden’s proposed tax and regulatory increases would crush the economy. Undermining economic growth would lead to dramatically lower tax revenues – including revenues for the FICA tax – the primary funder of Social Security.

...

He cited an analysis from the Tax Foundation, which noted, "[Biden’s budget plan would] add up to almost $4.7 trillion in new taxes targeted at businesses and high-income individuals. The major changes include higher marginal tax rates on corporate, individual, and capital gains income; a complicated new minimum tax on high-net-worth individuals; and increases to Medicare taxes. The negative effects of higher tax rates on saving, investment, and entrepreneurship would have economy-wide repercussions, ultimately harming workers, international competitiveness, and domestic investment."

Gingrich said the bottom line from Biden's agenda would "accelerate" the expected funding shortage for both Medicare and Social Security.

...

the real danger to Social Security and Medicare is his own effort to double the capital gains tax. No one is going to sell assets if they have to pay 45 percent to the federal government (and more to the state in some areas)," ..

He recommended that Republicans introduce resolutions in Congress "outlining the scale of damage the Biden budget would do to Social Security and Medicare. They should demand that he withdraw it and introduce a budget that protects Social Security and Medicare."

Not to worry Newt; He will probably kill most of us people through war, starvation and pestilence long before they get around to killing Social Security.

He’d do it on a heartbeat if he could blame the Republicans.

Leave it to Republicans to protect the terminal financial pyramid scheme Democrat FDR planted.

We were only saved from his post-war second act "Freedom From Want" by his getting called home while in office.

Increases also are below the real inflation level, meaning that inflation deflates real benefit levels.

Therefore, the more the government spends, in turn, the lower the actual, inflation-provided benefits provided.

As well, as pointed out and confirmed in Yellen’s testimony to Congress, our current trajectory will lead to an additional 24% reduction in 9 years.

“People in SC aren’t as smart as they think they are.”

Youre right, and Lindsey Graham is a scourge on America, thus proving your point.

“All federal programs like SS needs to be killed.”

You can explain why until you are blue in the face, but you will hear “gimme my money” from liberals and conservatives alike. We are a socialist country now.

I think the plan is among the elites is that if they usher in enough illegals they will vote themselves more and more benefits and could care less caring about the diminishing white population, many of them old and pasty looking....

older white Americans are just fodder....

if only we could outbreed them, but that is so messy.

I doubt there will be any grocery store clerks in 2030.

There are a lot of other jobs that will be gone also.

Fast food businesses are testing no staff on location
at this time.

Someone will have to load the machines, but that’s about
it, and the McDonald’s delivery staff may be the ones
doing that.

I agree. I had and have 100% VA health care. I refuse to use these idiots. I prefer to pay about $200 a month to BCBS of TN. Then I pay $20 for specialists and $10 for primary care. An MD I highly respect, told me about the VA’s he worked for.
He flat out told me the VA will kill you. I use the best MD’s in Nashville. I refuse to use the VA these days. I did have several awesome VA MD’s. They are gone now. I believe Veterans should go to MD’s they prefer. Not those the VA assigns one.

Oh, yes the VA will kill you if you let them. I’m on a bunch of meds from my private doctor. No problems in over 15 years. Got back into the VA last year and about 3/4s of the meds they prescribed have a known side effect of heart attack so I don’t take them after having chest pains after taking them.

I had to go back to my practice of researching every VA med before taking it. Then the VA pharmacy calls me and a ‘visiting specialist’ is asking to see if I’m taking the 3 recently prescribed meds that gave me bad heart pain. Hard No on many VA meds. Oh, and they won’t prescribe the anti-coagulant Clopidigril which my private doctor put me on post-operation.

“Go ahead I’m sure we need lots of geriatric grocery store clerks”

The demise of SS will not be by decree. Its value and what payments are worth will gradually decline until they are useless - all while paying out as agreed.

We will get socialized medicine, which will take care of Medicare - a much more expensive program than SS.

All the pontificating and bloviating about “I paid, I’m collecting” won’t change the fact that we can’t pay as some believe was promised them.

However, one thing is even more certain. Republicans will get the blame.

Your neighbors and your community and your churces will never be more important to people who need these programs today and in the future.

Good luck to one and all. Nobody wishes for this, but it can’t be avoided.
