Well, not exactly: the LEADERSHIP of most bar associations is leftist, I think mainly because the conservatives take one look at all the pictures in the Bar Journal of all the same people attending all the same galas and giving each other awards and (I am one) say, why the hell should I bother? The related issue is that we vote for “President-Elect”, which is virtually always an insider/climber, meaning it’s virtually impossible to get new, untainted blood into the room.
