Former President Trump on Tuesday morning suggested his criminal case over a hush money payment during the 2016 campaign should be moved out of Manhattan to nearby Staten Island, an idea his own attorney dismissed days earlier as premature.
“Very unfair venue, with some areas that voted 1% Republican. This case should be moved to nearby Staten Island – Would be a very fair and secure location for the trial,” Trump wrote on Truth Social hours before he was set to be arraigned in Manhattan.
In the 2020 election, 57 percent of Staten Island voters backed Trump, compared to 42 percent who supported President Biden.
Trump’s attorney in the case, Joe Tacopina, on Sunday said there had been “no discussion of that whatsoever” when asked about the possibility of seeking a change of venue to Staten Island.

ALL of this show trial needs change of venue. Said it a week ago and there, I says it again.
I really have doubts about his attorneys.
They on the left have done this to elevate themselves and to get the power they want to control you all.

I believe his attorney is saying that such discussions, from his stand point, occur before authority having say in such matters.
Trump is prepping the public.
This is a grim sign for the competency of Trump’s defense. “Move this trial to a venue biased in my favor” is not a winner.
He better say as much as he can before the nut job power hungry DA tries to gag him.

He is entitled to a jury of his peers. More of them live on Staten Island.
A nickel used to be the cost to take the ferry between Manhattan and Staten Island.
