It’s the economy, stupid.
Those famous words from Democratic strategist James Carville must be haunting President Biden’s White House as the economy begins to slow — and just as the 2024 election moves into view.
Most recently, the job market appears to be faltering, with March gains pegged at 236,000, way down from February’s 311,000 and the 334,000 recorded on average over the past six months.
This is challenging for Biden, who hopes to run for reelection and has relied on solid employment gains to prove that his “economic plan is working.” It’s been a tough sell, seeing that inflation has caused real wages to decline for two years in a row; writing last fall, the Dallas Fed noted that the hit from inflation was “the most severe faced by employed workers over the past 25 years.”
Biden’s approval ratings on the economy, according to Real Clear Politics’ average of polls, is a disastrous 37 percent.

My money’s on the “ultra MAGA Republicans”.
In no particular order, Putin, Mega MAGA Republicans, and, of course Trump.
They’ll tell Biden to blame someone because he has no clue where he is and what he’s doing
White, heterosexual, conservative, patriotic males, of course.
We’ve been in a recession for you?
We have been in a recession for a year.
I’m sure Biden assumes that everyone’s short-term memories are as bad as his. That no one will remember the economy was booming only 3 short years ago.
Biden & Dems bet the opporsition is as stupid in 2024 as in 2020 and 2022.
The hardline pro-lifers will drive the middle into the arms of the left.
The hardline anti-immigrants will drive the middle into the arms of the left..
On Ukraine, both parties are split. But the Dems will vote for a Dem who is not with them on Ukraine. Republicans? Not so much.
Same thought here, along with deplorables/unvaccinated/kulaks/jews/emmanuel goldstein.
Leaders lead, and followers don’t lead.
Leaders don’t blame. Leaders take problems and solve them. Leaders examine what occurred before, and make corrections and make things happen the right way.
If there was a problem with inherited policies, it is the duty of the new leader(s) to make corrections and forget abut passing blame. If a prior policy is followed and results in problems, you have to take the blame for going along with the bad policy. You are not a leader if your most important policy is to blame others.
You run for president recognizing policies and programs that don’t work and promise to fix. If you encounter bad results, whether they were your policies or that of others, the buck stops with you and you have to take the blame. Blaming and pointing fingers at others, indicates that you are NOT FIT TO LEAD.
There is now an admiral who holds press conferences that doesn’t know what a leader is. He should never have led any personnel in the military.
Remember years ago, when it was always Bush’s fault? Now we will go the next two decades with it being Trump’s fault.
same thing
he has always done
deny deny deny
Trump’s fault
they actually did both on Afghanistan
its not a disaster
and
its Trump’s fault
The Hill actually wrote an article like this?
Racist MAGA insurrectionists.
I’m going with “It’s not as bad as it looks” -(Joe Biden)
K8d Rock?
I bet ANYBODY but Biden himself.
Hell, his entire pervert, pedophile, and sexual deviant administration will not see an smidgen of blame for this disaster.
Hillary Clinton first blamed an Israeli filmmaker for the Benghazi attack, then she blamed her staff for Chris Steven’s death because they didn’t read or inform her about the over 400 e-mails stretching back to over a year he wrote from Benghazi to her State Dept server begging for help and warning about the situation becoming more dire each day over that year……….and finally, in her Senate hearings about which fake news said nothing happened except white males picking on a heroic woman (who has a weak history of following males who abuse her, ie Bill ————and Obama, for whom she gave up a job as senator)—-in Hillary’s Senate hearing, she not only committed the crime of perjury, but her perjury basically was about blaming the victim Chris Stevens for his own death—-which was sickening and completely disqualified Hillary for the presidency,
